Genesis 9

Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.

แล้วพระเจ้าทรงอวยพรโนอาห์กับบุตรของเขาและตรัสว่า “จงมีลูกมีหลานทวีขึ้นจนเต็มแผ่นดินโลก

The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.

สัตว์ป่าทั้งปวงบนโลก นกทั้งปวงในอากาศ สัตว์ที่เลื้อยคลานทุกชนิด และปลาทั้งปวงในทะเลจะเกรงกลัวเจ้า เพราะเรามอบมันไว้ในมือของเจ้า

Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

ทุกสิ่งที่มีชีวิตและเคลื่อนไหวไปมาได้จะเป็นอาหารของเจ้า เราได้ยกพืชสีเขียวให้แก่เจ้าแล้วอย่างไร บัดนี้เราก็ให้ทุกสิ่งแก่เจ้าอย่างนั้น

“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.

“แต่เจ้าจะต้องไม่กินเนื้อสัตว์พร้อมชีวิตของมัน คือเลือด

And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.

As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”

ส่วนเจ้าจงมีลูกมีหลานมากมายเพิ่มจำนวนทวีขึ้นบนแผ่นดินโลก”

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him:

แล้วพระเจ้าตรัสกับโนอาห์และบุตรของเขาว่า

“I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you

“บัดนี้เราเองเป็นผู้ทำพันธสัญญากับเจ้าและกับเชื้อสายของเจ้า

and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth.

ตลอดจนสัตว์ทุกตัวที่อยู่กับเจ้าคือ นก สัตว์ใช้งาน และสัตว์ป่า และสัตว์ทั้งปวงที่ออกจากเรือ คือสิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งหมดในโลกนี้

I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

เราทำพันธสัญญากับเจ้าว่าจะไม่ให้น้ำท่วมทำลายล้างสิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งปวงอีกเลยและจะไม่ให้น้ำท่วมทำลายโลกอีกต่อไป”

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:

และพระเจ้าตรัสว่า “นี่คือเครื่องหมายแห่งพันธสัญญาที่เรากำลังทำระหว่างเรากับเจ้าและกับสิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งปวงที่อยู่กับเจ้า เป็นพันธสัญญาที่ผูกพันตลอดทุกชั่วอายุคน

I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

คือเราได้ตั้งรุ้งของเราไว้ที่หมู่เมฆ เป็นเครื่องหมายแห่งพันธสัญญาของเรากับโลก

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,

ทุกครั้งที่เราส่งเมฆมาเหนือโลก และรุ้งปรากฏขึ้นที่เมฆ

I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

เราจะระลึกถึงพันธสัญญาระหว่างเรากับเจ้าและกับสรรพสิ่งที่มีชีวิตทุกชนิดว่าจะไม่ให้น้ำท่วมทำลายล้างสิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งปวงอีกเลย

Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

เมื่อใดที่รุ้งปรากฏบนเมฆ รุ้งจะเตือนให้เราระลึกถึงพันธสัญญานิรันดร์ระหว่างพระเจ้ากับสรรพสิ่งที่มีชีวิตทุกชนิดบนโลก”

So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

The Sons of Noah

พระเจ้าจึงตรัสแก่โนอาห์ว่า “นี่คือเครื่องหมายแห่งพันธสัญญาที่เราได้ทำไว้ระหว่างเรากับทุกชีวิตบนโลก”

บรรดาบุตรของโนอาห์

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)

บุตรของโนอาห์ที่ออกมาจากเรือคือ เชม ฮาม และยาเฟท (ฮามเป็นบิดาของคานาอัน)

These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.

นี่คือบุตรทั้งสามของโนอาห์ ประชาชาติที่กระจายไปทั่วโลกถือกำเนิดจากพวกเขา

Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded^[a] to plant a vineyard.

โนอาห์เป็นชาวไร่ชาวนา^[a] เขาเริ่ม^[b]ทำสวนองุ่น

When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.

เมื่อเขาดื่มเหล้าองุ่นแล้ว เขาก็เมาและนอนเปลือยกายอยู่ในเต็นท์ของเขา

Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.

ฮามผู้เป็นบิดาของคานาอันเห็นบิดาเปลือยกายจึงบอกพี่ชายทั้งสองของเขาที่อยู่ข้างนอก

But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.

แต่เชมกับยาเฟทเอาเสื้อผ้าพาดบ่า เดินถอยหลังเข้ามาในเต็นท์ เอาผ้าคลุมปกปิดร่างอันเปลือยเปล่าของบิดา เขาทั้งสองหันหน้าไปทางอื่นเพื่อจะได้ไม่เห็นความเปลือยเปล่าของบิดา

When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,

เมื่อโนอาห์สร่างเมาและรู้ถึงสิ่งที่บุตรคนสุดท้องได้ทำต่อเขา

he said,

ก็กล่าวว่า

He also said,

After the flood Noah lived 350 years.

หลังจากน้ำท่วม โนอาห์มีชีวิตต่อไปอีก 350 ปี

Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.

โนอาห์มีชีวิตอยู่รวมทั้งสิ้น 950 ปี แล้วเขาก็ตาย
