Genesis 22

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

ต่อมาพระเจ้าทรงทดสอบอับราฮัม พระองค์ตรัสกับเขาว่า “อับราฮัมเอ๋ย!”

เขาทูลตอบว่า “ข้าพระองค์อยู่ที่นี่”

Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

แล้วพระเจ้าตรัสว่า “ขอเจ้าจงพาลูกชายของเจ้า ลูกชายเพียงคนเดียวของเจ้า ผู้ที่เจ้ารัก คืออิสอัค ไปยังแคว้นโมริยาห์ จงถวายเขาเป็นเครื่องเผาบูชาบนภูเขาแห่งหนึ่งซึ่งเราจะสำแดงแก่เจ้า”

Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.

เช้าตรู่วันรุ่งขึ้น อับราฮัมลุกขึ้นและผูกอานลาของเขา เขาพาคนรับใช้สองคนกับอิสอัคบุตรชายไปด้วย เมื่อเขาได้ตัดฟืนพอสำหรับเครื่องเผาบูชาแล้วจึงมุ่งหน้าไปยังที่ซึ่งพระเจ้าตรัสบอกเขาไว้

On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.

เมื่อถึงวันที่สาม อับราฮัมเงยหน้าขึ้นและเห็นสถานที่นั้นแต่ไกล

He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”

เขาพูดกับคนรับใช้ว่า “จงอยู่กับลาที่นี่ ขณะที่เรากับเด็กคนนี้ไปที่โน่น พวกเราจะนมัสการพระเจ้า แล้วพวกเราจะกลับมาหาเจ้า”

Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together,

อับราฮัมจึงเอาฟืนสำหรับเครื่องเผาบูชาใส่บ่าอิสอัค ตัวเขาเองถือมีดและไฟ ขณะที่ทั้งสองกำลังเดินไปด้วยกันนั้น

Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?”

“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.

“The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

อิสอัคพูดกับอับราฮัมบิดาของเขาขึ้นมาว่า “พ่อ”

อับราฮัมตอบว่า “อะไรหรือลูก?”

อิสอัคกล่าวว่า “ไฟกับฟืนก็มีอยู่ที่นี่แล้ว แต่ลูกแกะสำหรับเผาบูชาอยู่ที่ไหนเล่า?”

Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.

อับราฮัมตอบว่า “ลูกเอ๋ย พระเจ้าจะจัดเตรียมลูกแกะสำหรับเผาบูชาไว้เอง” แล้วทั้งสองก็เดินต่อไปด้วยกัน

When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

เมื่อพวกเขามาถึงสถานที่ที่พระเจ้าทรงบอกไว้ อับราฮัมก็สร้างแท่นบูชาขึ้นและจัดฟืนไว้บนแท่นนั้น เขามัดอิสอัคลูกของเขา แล้ววางบนฟืนเหนือแท่นบูชา

Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

จากนั้นเขาเอื้อมมือหยิบมีดจะฆ่าลูกชายของตน

But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

แต่ทูตขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเรียกอับราฮัมจากฟ้าสวรรค์ว่า “อับราฮัม! อับราฮัม!”

เขาตอบว่า “ข้าพระองค์อยู่ที่นี่”

“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

ทูตสวรรค์กล่าวว่า “อย่าแตะต้องเด็กคนนั้น อย่าทำอะไรเขาเลย บัดนี้เรารู้แล้วว่าเจ้ายำเกรงพระเจ้า เพราะเจ้าไม่ได้หวงลูกชายของเจ้าจากเรา แม้เป็นลูกชายเพียงคนเดียวของเจ้า”

Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram^[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

อับราฮัมเงยหน้าขึ้นเห็นแกะผู้ตัวหนึ่ง^[a] เขาของมันเกี่ยวติดอยู่กับพุ่มไม้ จึงไปจับแกะนั้นมาถวายเป็นเครื่องเผาบูชาแทนลูกชายของเขา

So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

ดังนั้นอับราฮัมจึงเรียกสถานที่นั้นว่า “พระยาห์เวห์จะทรงจัดเตรียมไว้” อย่างที่พูดกันทุกวันนี้ว่า “จะจัดเตรียมไว้บนภูเขาของพระยาห์เวห์”

The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time

แล้วทูตขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าร้องเรียกอับราฮัมจากฟ้าสวรรค์เป็นครั้งที่สอง

and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,

และกล่าวว่า “องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงประกาศว่า เราปฏิญาณโดยตัวของเราเองว่า ด้วยเหตุที่เจ้าทำเช่นนี้และไม่ได้หวงแม้กระทั่งลูกชายของเจ้า คือลูกชายเพียงคนเดียวของเจ้า

I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,

เราจะอวยพรเจ้าแน่นอนและจะทำให้ลูกหลานของเจ้ามีจำนวนมากมายเหมือนดวงดาวในท้องฟ้า เหมือนเม็ดทรายที่ชายทะเล ลูกหลานของเจ้าจะครอบครองเมืองต่างๆ ของเหล่าศัตรูของพวกเขา

and through your offspring^[b] all nations on earth will be blessed,^[c] because you have obeyed me.”

และทุกประชาชาติทั่วโลกจะได้รับพรผ่านทางเชื้อสาย^[b]ของเจ้า เพราะเจ้าได้เชื่อฟังเรา”

Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.

Nahor’s Sons

แล้วอับราฮัมก็กลับมาหาคนรับใช้ และพากันกลับไปยังเมืองเบเออร์เชบา อับราฮัมอาศัยอยู่ที่เมืองเบเออร์เชบา

บรรดาบุตรของนาโฮร์

Some time later Abraham was told, “Milkah is also a mother; she has borne sons to your brother Nahor:

ต่อมามีผู้แจ้งอับราฮัมว่า “มิลคาห์ได้เป็นแม่แล้ว นางได้คลอดลูกชายหลายคนให้แก่นาโฮร์น้องชายของท่าน คือ

Uz the firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram),

อูสบุตรหัวปี บูสน้องชายของเขา เคมูเอล (บิดาของอารัม)

Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.”

เคเสด ฮาโซ ปิลดาช ยิดลาฟ และเบธูเอล”

Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milkah bore these eight sons to Abraham’s brother Nahor.

เบธูเอลเป็นบิดาของนางเรเบคาห์ มิลคาห์ให้กำเนิดบุตรชายแปดคนนี้แก่นาโฮร์น้องชายของอับราฮัม

His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also had sons: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maakah.

นอกจากนี้นาโฮร์ยังมีบุตรชายอีกสี่คนซึ่งเกิดจากเรอูมาห์ภรรยาน้อย ได้แก่เทบาห์ กาฮัม ทาหาช และมาอาคาห์
