Verse 1
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
Dumnezeu i-a binecuvântat pe Noe şi pe fiii săi şi le-a zis: „Fiţi roditori, înmulţiţi-vă şi umpleţi pământul.
Verse 2
The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
Frica şi groaza de voi să fie peste toate vieţuitoarele pământului, peste păsările cerului, peste toate creaturile care mişună pe pământ şi peste toţi peştii mării. Ele vă sunt date în stăpânire.
Verse 3
Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
Tot ce se mişcă şi are viaţă vă va fi hrană. Aşa cum v-am dat plantele verzi, acum vă dau totul.
Verse 4
“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
Dar să nu mâncaţi carne cu viaţa ei, adică cu sânge.[a]
Verse 5
And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
Pentru sângele vieţilor voastre voi cere socoteală; voi cere socoteală de la orice vietate. Iar din mâna omului, voi cere socoteală pentru viaţa semenului său.
Verse 6
“Whoever sheds human blood,
by humans shall their blood be shed;
for in the image of God
has God made mankind.

Cine varsă sângele omului,
de om sângele-i va fi vărsat,
căci după chipul lui Dumnezeu
l-a făcut Dumnezeu pe om.

Verse 7
As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”
Iar voi, fiţi roditori şi înmulţiţi-vă; răspândiţi-vă pe pământ şi înmulţiţi-vă pe el.“[b]
Verse 8
Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him:
Apoi Dumnezeu le-a spus lui Noe şi fiilor săi:
Verse 9
“I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you
„Fac un legământ cu voi, cu urmaşii[c] voştri
Verse 10
and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth.
şi cu toate vieţuitoarele care au fost cu voi – păsările, vitele şi toate animalele sălbatice care au fost cu voi, toate cele care au ieşit din arcă – cu toate vieţuitoarele de pe pământ.
Verse 11
I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
Închei un legământ cu voi: niciodată nu vor mai fi distruse toate creaturile de apele vreunui potop şi niciodată nu va mai fi vreun potop care să distrugă pământul.“
Verse 12
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
Dumnezeu a mai zis: „Acesta este semnul legământului pe care îl fac cu voi şi cu toate vieţuitoarele care au fost cu voi, pentru toate generaţiile viitoare:
Verse 13
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
pun în nori curcubeul Meu; el va fi semnul legământului dintre Mine şi pământ.
Verse 14
Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
Când voi aduce nori peste pământ, iar curcubeul se va vedea în nori,
Verse 15
I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
Îmi voi aminti de legământul pe care l-am făcut cu voi şi cu toate vieţuitoarele de toate felurile. Apele nu vor mai deveni niciodată potop care să distrugă toate creaturile.
Verse 16
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
Când curcubeul va fi în nori, îl voi vedea şi Îmi voi aminti de legământul veşnic dintre Dumnezeu şi toate vieţuitoarele de toate felurile care sunt pe pământ.“
Verse 17
So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
The Sons of Noah
Dumnezeu i-a zis lui Noe: „Acesta este semnul legământului pe care l-am făcut cu toate creaturile care sunt pe pământ.“
Fiii lui Noe
Verse 18
The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)
Fiii lui Noe, care au ieşit din arcă, au fost: Sem, Ham şi Iafet. Ham a fost tatăl lui Canaan.
Verse 19
These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.
Aceştia trei au fost fiii lui Noe şi din ei s-au răspândit oameni pe tot pământul.
Verse 20
Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded[a] to plant a vineyard.
Noe a început să lucreze pământul şi a plantat o vie[d].
Verse 21
When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.
El a băut vin, s-a îmbătat şi s-a dezbrăcat în cortul său.
Verse 22
Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.
Ham, tatăl lui Canaan, a văzut goliciunea tatălui său şi le-a spus despre acest lucru celor doi fraţi ai săi de afară.
Verse 23
But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.
Dar Sem şi Iafet au luat o haină, şi-au pus-o pe umeri, au intrat în cort mergând cu spatele şi au acoperit goliciunea tatălui lor; feţele lor erau întoarse, astfel încât ei n-au văzut goliciunea tatălui lor.
Verse 24
When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,
Când Noe s-a trezit din beţie şi a aflat ce i-a făcut fiul său cel tânăr,
Verse 25
he said,
“Cursed be Canaan!
The lowest of slaves
will he be to his brothers.”
a zis:
„Blestemat să fie Canaan;
să fie cel mai de jos dintre sclavi
pentru fraţii săi.“[e]
Verse 26
He also said,
“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Shem!
May Canaan be the slave of Shem.
Noe a mai zis:
„Binecuvântat să fie Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Sem,
iar Canaan să-i fie sclav.
Verse 27
May God extend Japheth’s[b] territory;
may Japheth live in the tents of Shem,
and may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.”

Fie ca Dumnezeu să mărească teritoriul lui Iafet[f];
el să locuiască în corturile lui Sem,
iar Canaan să-i fie sclav.“

Verse 28
After the flood Noah lived 350 years.
După potop Noe a mai trăit trei sute cincizeci de ani.
Verse 29
Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.
Astfel, Noe a trăit în total nouă sute cincizeci de ani; apoi a murit.
