Genesis 8

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.

Dumnezeu Şi-a adus aminte de Noe şi de toate vietăţile şi vitele care erau împreună cu el în arcă. Dumnezeu a făcut să sufle un vânt peste pământ, iar apele s-au potolit.

Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky.

Fântânile adâncului şi stăvilarele cerului au fost închise, iar ploaia din cer s-a oprit.

The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down,

Apele au început să se retragă de pe pământ. La sfârşitul celor o sută cincizeci de zile, ele au scăzut,

and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

iar în a şaptesprezecea zi a lunii a şaptea, arca s-a oprit pe munţii Ararat.

The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

Apele au continuat să scadă până în luna a zecea, iar în ziua întâi a lunii a zecea, s-au văzut vârfurile munţilor.

After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark

După patruzeci de zile, Noe a deschis fereastra arcei pe care a făcut-o

and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.

şi a trimis afară un corb care a zburat încoace şi încolo, până când apele de pe pământ s-au uscat.

Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground.

Apoi a trimis un porumbel ca să vadă dacă apele de pe pământ au scăzut;

But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark.

dar porumbelul n-a găsit nici un loc unde să se aşeze, pentru că încă era apă pe tot pământul. De aceea el s-a întors la Noe în arcă, iar acesta şi-a întins mâna, l-a luat şi l-a adus la el în arcă.

He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.

El a mai aşteptat încă şapte zile şi apoi a trimis din nou porumbelul din arcă.

When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.

Porumbelul s-a întors la el seara, iar în cioc avea o frunză de măslin ruptă de curând. Noe şi-a dat seama că apele de pe pământ scăzuseră.

He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.

A mai aşteptat încă şapte zile, iar apoi a trimis din nou porumbelul, dar acesta nu s-a mai întors la el.

By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.

În anul şase sute unu al vieţii lui Noe, în prima zi a lunii întâi, pământul era uscat. Noe a ridicat învelitoarea arcei şi a văzut că pământul era uscat.

By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.

În a douăzeci şi şaptea zi a lunii a doua, pământul era uscat de tot.

Then God said to Noah,

Atunci Dumnezeu i-a spus lui Noe:

“Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.

„Ieşi afară din arcă, tu, împreună cu soţia ta, cu fiii tăi şi cu soţiile acestora.

Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.”

Scoate afară toate vieţuitoarele care sunt cu tine – păsările, animalele^[a], precum şi toate animalele mici care mişună pe pământ^[b] – pentru ca ele să se răspândească pe pământ, să fie roditoare şi să se înmulţească.“

So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.

Astfel, Noe a ieşit din arcă împreună cu fiii săi, cu soţia sa şi cu soţiile fiilor săi.

All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.

De asemenea, toate vieţuitoarele, potrivit felurilor lor, toate animalele mici şi toate păsările, tot ce mişună pe pământ, au ieşit şi ele din arcă.

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.

Atunci Noe a zidit un altar Domnului, a luat din toate animalele curate şi din toate păsările curate şi le-a adus ca ardere de tot pe altar.

The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though^[a] every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
