Proverbs 28:13

He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper,But whoever confesses and [b]turns away from his sins will find compassion and mercy.

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

You can’t whitewash your sins and get by with it; you find mercy by admitting and leaving them.

Den som döljer sin synd blir aldrig lycklig, men den som bekänner den och ångrar sig möts med barmhärtighet.
