Obadiah 1:5

“If thieves came to you,If robbers by night—How you will be ruined!—Would they not steal only until they had enough?If grape gatherers came to you,Would they not leave some grapes for gleaning?

If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?

“If thieves came to you,If [c]robbers by night—O how you will be ruined!—Would they not steal only [d]until they had enough?If grape gatherers came to you,Would they not leave some gleanings?

“Edom, suppose robbers came to you at night. They would steal only as much as they wanted.Suppose grape pickers came to harvest your vines. They would still leave a few grapes. But you are facing horrible trouble!

“If thieves came to you, if robbers in the night—oh, what a disaster awaits you!— would they not steal only as much as they wanted?If grape pickers came to you, would they not leave a few grapes?

‘If thieves came to you, if robbers in the night –oh, what a disaster awaits you – would they not steal only as much as they wanted?If grape pickers came to you, would they not leave a few grapes?

“If thieves came at night and robbed you (what a disaster awaits you!), they would not take everything.Those who harvest grapes always leave a few for the poor. But your enemies will wipe you out completely!

إِنِ اقْتَحَمَ اللُّصُوصُ بَيْتَكَ، وَهَاجَمَكَ النَّاهِبُونَ لَيْلاً، أَلا يَسْرِقُونَ مَا يَحْتَاجُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَطْ؟ وَإِنْ أَقْبَلَ إِلَيْكَ قَاطِفُو الْعِنَبِ، أَلا يُبْقُونَ خُصَاصَةً؟ وَلَكِنْ يَالَدَمَارِكَ!

Wenn Diebe im Schutz der Nacht einbrechen, nehmen sie nur mit, so viel sie tragen können. Wenn die Winzer den Weinberg abernten, lassen sie eine Nachlese übrig. Ihr aber werdet vollkommen vernichtet!

Si des voleurs |ou des pillards |viennent chez toi |pendant la nuit,ils saccageront tout.Ne s’empareront-ils pas de tes biens |jusqu’à ce qu’ils en aient assez ?Si des vendangeurs pénètrent chez toi,ne laisseront-ils pas |que ce qui se grappille ?

“Indi bala nga ang mga kawatan wala nila ginaubos kuha ang sa sulod sang balay kundi ginakuha lang nila ang ila kinahanglan? Kag indi bala nga ang mga nagapamupo sang ubas wala nila ginaubos kuha ang mga bunga kundi ginabilinan nila ini?[a] Pero kamo ubuson gid laglag sang inyo mga kaaway.

「夜中にどろぼうが来るほうが、はるかにましだ。根こそぎ持って行きはしないから。あるいは、ぶどう畑の実を全部盗まれるほうがましだ。少なくとも落ちた実は残るだろうから。

“밤에 도둑이 들어도 그들은 자기들이 원하는 것만 가져가며 사람들이 포도를 따도 모조리 따지 않고 얼마쯤은 남겨 둔다. 그러나 네 원수들은 너를 완전히 휩쓸어 버릴 것이다.

‘Het zou voor u veel beter zijn geweest als er ʼs nachts dieven waren gekomen om u te beroven. Want die zouden niet alles hebben meegenomen. Als er druivenplukkers kwamen, zouden die dan niets overlaten?

“Se ladrões o atacassem, saqueadores no meio da noite— como você está destruído! — não roubariam apenas quanto achassem suficiente?Se os que colhem uvas chegassem a você, não deixariam para trás pelo menos alguns cachos?

Muito melhor teria sido que ladrões tivessem vindo de noite assaltar-vos, porque nunca chegariam a levar tudo o que vocês possuem! No caso das vossas vinhas serem roubadas, pelo menos deixariam ficar uns cachos mais desprezíveis.

Dacă ar intra la tine nişte hoţi, nişte prădători, în timpul nopţii,(o, cum vei fi de distrus!), n-ar fura ei doar cât ar avea nevoie?Dacă ar veni nişte culegători de struguri la tine, n-ar lăsa ei câţiva ciorchini neculeşi?

Om tjuvar kommer till dig eller rövare om natten – ack, då förgås du ju! – stjäl de väl bara tills de fått nog? Om druvplockarna kommer till dig, lämnar de väl en efterskörd?

“หากขโมยมาหาเจ้าหากโจรบุกมาในยามค่ำคืนเจ้าจะย่อยยับสักปานใดเขาจะไม่ขโมยไปเพียงเท่าที่เขาอยากได้หรือ?หากคนเก็บองุ่นมาหาเจ้าเขาจะไม่เหลือไว้บ้างนิดหน่อยหรือ?

“盗贼深夜洗劫你的家，不会洗劫一空；人们摘葡萄，不会摘光；但你会被彻底毁灭！

盗 贼 若 来 在 你 那 里 ， 或 强 盗 夜 间 而 来 ─ 你 何 竟 被 剪 除 ─ 岂 不 偷 窃 直 到 够 了 呢 ？ 摘 葡 萄 的 若 来 到 你 那 里 ， 岂 不 剩 下 些 葡 萄 呢 ？

「盜賊深夜洗劫你的家，不會洗劫一空；人們摘葡萄，不會摘光；但你會被徹底毀滅！
