Obadiah 1:12

“Do not gaze and gloat [in triumph] over your brother’s day,The day when his misfortune came.Do not rejoice over the sons of JudahIn the day of their destruction;Do not speak arrogantly [jeering and maliciously mocking]In the day of their distress.

But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

“Do not [h]gloat over your brother’s day,The day of his misfortune.And do not rejoice over the sons of JudahIn the day of their destruction;Yes, do not [i]boastIn the day of their distress.

That was a time of trouble for your relatives. So you shouldn’t have been happy about what happened to them.The people of Judah were destroyed. So you should not have been happy about it.You should not have laughed at them so much when they were in trouble.

You should not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune,nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction,nor boast so much in the day of their trouble.

“You should not have gloated when they exiled your relatives to distant lands.You should not have rejoiced when the people of Judah suffered such misfortune.You should not have spoken arrogantly in that terrible time of trouble.

مَا كَانَ يَجِبُ أَنْ تَشْمَتَ بِيَوْمِ مَصِيرِ أَخِيكَ، فِي يَوْمِ فَاجِعَتِهِ، وَمَا كَانَ يَجِبُ أَنْ تَبْتَهِجَ فِي يَوْمِ دَمَارِ شَعْبِ يَهُوذَا أَوْ تَتَبَاهَى فِي يَوْمِ الضِّيقِ.

I nød jeres broderfolks nederlag, glædede jer over deres ulykke.

Ihr hättet damals nicht so schadenfroh das Unglück der Judäer mit ansehen dürfen! Warum habt ihr euch über ihr Leid lustig gemacht und gespottet, als sie in Not waren?

おまえは、そうすべきではなかった。侵入者がイスラエルを遠い異国へ連れ去るのを見て、ほくそ笑むべきではなかった。彼らの不幸を喜ぶべきではなかった。彼らが困っている時にあざけるべきでなかった。

너는 네 형제들의 불행을 만족스러운 듯이 바라보거나 유다 백성의 패망을 기뻐하거나 그들이 고난을 당할 때 우쭐대지 말았어야 했다.

Dat had u niet moeten doen. U had geen leedvermaak mogen hebben, toen zij uw broeder naar vreemde landen wegvoerden. U had zich niet mogen verheugen over zijn ongeluksdag. U had niet de spot met hem mogen drijven toen hij in nood verkeerde.

Você não devia ter olhado com satisfação o dia da desgraça de seu irmão;nem ter se alegrado com a destruição do povo de Judá;não devia ter falado com arrogância no dia da sua aflição.

Não devias ter feito isso. Não devias ter ficado satisfeito quando o vieram buscar para o levar para longe, para terras estranhas; não devias ter-te alegrado com o seu infortúnio; não devias ter-te rido dele, nesse tempo de desgraça.

เจ้าไม่ควรหยามน้ำหน้าน้องชายในวันที่เขารับเคราะห์หรือกระหยิ่มยิ้มย่องทับถมชาวยูดาห์ในวันที่พวกเขาพินาศหรือคุยโวโอ้อวดเหลือเกินในวันที่พวกเขาเดือดร้อน

你的亲族遭难之日，你不该幸灾乐祸；犹大人被灭的日子，你不该兴高采烈；他们遭难的日子，你不该口出狂言；

你 兄 弟 遭 难 的 日 子 ， 你 不 当 瞪 眼 看 着 ； 犹 大 人 被 灭 的 日 子 ， 你 不 当 因 此 欢 乐 ； 他 们 遭 难 的 日 子 ， 你 不 当 说 狂 傲 的 话 。
