Nehemiah 6:9

For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” But now, [O God,] strengthen my hands.

For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.

They were trying to intimidate us into quitting. They thought, “They’ll give up; they’ll never finish it.”I prayed, “Give me strength.”

For all of them were trying to frighten us, [f]thinking, “[g]They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” But now, O God, strengthen my hands.

All of them were trying to frighten us. They thought, “Their hands will get too weak to do the work. So it won’t be completed.”But I prayed to God. I said, “Make my hands stronger.”

وَكَانَ جَمِيعُهُمْ يُحَاوِلُونَ أَنْ يُوْقِعُوا الرُّعْبَ فِي قُلُوبِنَا، حَتَّى نَتَوَقَّفَ عَنِ الْعَمَلِ فَلا يُسْتَكْمَلَ بِنَاءُ السُّورِ. وَلَكِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ: يَا إِلَهِي قَوِّ مِنْ عَزِيمَتِي.

De prøvede blot at gøre os bange med det formål at få os til at standse arbejdet. „Herre,” bad jeg, „giv os mod og styrke til at gøre arbejdet færdigt!”

Unsere Feinde wollten uns Angst einjagen, um die Fertigstellung der Mauer zu verhindern. Doch ich betete: »Herr, gib mir Mut und Kraft!«[a]

君たちは私たちを脅迫して、ただ工事を中止させたいだけなのだ。」ああ、神様。どうか、私に力をお与えください。

Zo probeerden zij ons bang te maken, zodat we met dit werk zouden stoppen. O God, geef mij kracht!

Estavam todos tentando intimidar-nos, pensando: “Eles serão enfraquecidos e não concluirão a obra”.Eu, porém, orei pedindo: Fortalece agora as minhas mãos!

Porque todos eles procuravam atemorizar-nos, ameaçando: “As suas mãos largarão a obra e não se efetuará mais trabalho algum!”Então orei: “Agora, ó Deus, fortalece as minhas mãos!”

De försökte allesammans att skrämma oss, för de tänkte: ”De kommer att bli för svaga för arbetet, och det kommer aldrig att bli utfört.” ”Men styrk du nu mina händer!”[c]
