Are you better than [a]Thebes,Which was situated by the waters of the Nile,With water surrounding her,Whose defense was the sea (the Nile),Whose wall consisted of the sea?

Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?

Are you better than [g]No-amon,Which was situated by the waters of the Nile,With water surrounding her,Whose rampart was [h]the sea,Whose wall consisted of [i]the sea?

Nineveh, are you better than Thebes on the Nile River?There was water all around that city. The river helped to keep it safe. The waters were like a wall around it.

Are you better than Thebes, situated on the Nile, with water around her?The river was her defense, the waters her wall.

هَلْ أَنْتِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ طِيبَةَ الْجَاثِمَةِ إِلَى جِوَارِ النِّيلِ الْمُحَاطَةِ بِالْمِيَاهِ، الْمُتَمَنِّعَةِ بِالْبَحْرِ وَبِأَسْوَارٍ مِنَ الْمِيَاهِ؟

Er du måske bedre end Tebes,[a] som lå ved Nilens bred?Den by var omgivet af floder, beskyttet af vand på alle sider.

Meinst du vielleicht, dir werde es besser ergehen als der Stadt Theben? Sie war von den Wassern des Nils wie von einer schützenden Mauer umgeben.

¿Acaso eres mejor que Tebas,[a] ciudad rodeada de aguas, asentada junto a las corrientes del Nilo,que tiene al mar por terraplén y a las aguas por muralla?

你能强过底比斯[a]吗？底比斯位于尼罗河上，四面环水，水是她的屏障，又是她的城墙。
