“I will root out your Asherim (symbols of the goddess Asherah) from among youAnd destroy your cities [which are the centers of pagan worship].

And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.

I will pull down the poles you used to worship the female god named Asherah. That will happen when I completely destroy your cities.

وَأُفْنِي عَشْتَارُوثَ مِنْ بَيْنِكُمْ، وَأَهْدِمُ مُدُنَكُمْ،
