The Benjamites went out against [e]their army and were lured away from the city, and they began to strike and kill some of the people as at other times, on the highways, one of which goes up to Bethel and the other to Gibeah, and in the open country, about thirty men of Israel.

And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.

Da benjaminitterne nu stormede ud af byen for at gå til modangreb, trak israelitterne sig tilbage i tre retninger og lokkede benjaminitterne væk fra byen. Benjaminitterne forfulgte de israelitiske soldater og huggede 30 af dem ned dels ude på markerne, dels langs vejen mod nordvest til Gibeon[a] og mod nord til Betel.

Les hommes de Benjamin sortirent de nouveau pour les affronter. Les Benjaminites se laissèrent entraîner loin de la ville, ils commencèrent comme précédemment à faire des victimes en plein champ sur les routes qui mènent l’une à Béthel, l’autre à Guibéa. Ils tuèrent ainsi une trentaine d’Israélites.

Toen het leger van Benjamin de stad uitmarcheerde voor de aanval, trokken de Israëlitische troepen zich terug. Zo werden de Benjaminieten van de stad weggelokt, toen zij Israël achtervolgden. Net als de vorige keren vochten de Benjaminieten met de mannen van Israël en op de wegen naar Betel en Gibea doodden zij ongeveer dertig mannen van Israël.
