Job 21:29

“Have you not asked those who travel this way,And do you not recognize their witness?

Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,

“Have you not asked wayfaring men,And do you not recognize their [s]witness?

Haven’t you ever asked questions of those who travel? Haven’t you paid any attention to their stories?

Have you never questioned those who travel? Have you paid no regard to their accounts—

But ask those who have been around, and they will tell you the truth.

هَلّا سَأَلْتُمْ عَابِرِي السَّبِيلِ؟ أَلا تَكْتَرِثُونَ لِشَهَادَتِهِمْ؟

Men prøv at spørge dem, der er vidt berejste, hør, hvad de siger om deres erfaringer:

Doch habt ihr noch nie mit Reisenden gesprochen,die weit herumgekommen sind,und noch nie gehört, was sie erzählten:

Mais interrogez donc |les passants du chemin,et ne contestez pas |les preuves qu’ils apportent.

だが、手近な人に尋ねてみるがよい。30-32 悪者はたいてい災いの日に命拾いし、逃げのびる、と答えるに決まっているから。だれも面と向かって彼を責めず、報復もしない。そればかりか、兵士が彼の墓を見張ってくれる。

너희는 길 가는 사람들에게 물어 보지도 않았느냐? 너희는 그들의 증언을 듣지도 못했느냐?

Maar dan zeg ik: vraag het maar eens aan hen die veel hebben gereisd en zij zullen jullie hun verhalen vertellen.30-32 Dat de goddeloze mens op de onheilsdag wordt gespaard en aan de toorn weet te ontsnappen. Niemand wijst hem in het openbaar op zijn fouten. Niemand zet hem zijn misdaden betaald. En bij zijn graf wordt een erewacht opgesteld.
