Jeremiah 8:14

Why are we sitting still [the people wonder]?Assemble yourselves, and let us enter the fortified citiesAnd let us die there,For the Lord our God has decreed our ruinAnd given us bitter and poisonous water to drink,Because we have sinned against the Lord.

Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the Lord our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the Lord.

Why are we sitting here? Let’s gather together!Let’s run to the cities that have high walls around them! Let’s die there!The Lord our God has sentenced us to death. He has given us poisoned water to drink. That’s because we’ve sinned against him.

“Then the people will say, ‘Why should we wait here to die?Come, let’s go to the fortified towns and die there. For the Lord our God has decreed our destructionand has given us a cup of poison to drink because we sinned against the Lord.

فَمَا لَنَا قَابِعُونَ هُنَا؟ اجْتَمِعُوا مَعاً وَلْنَلْجَأْ إِلَى الْمُدُنِ الْحَصِينَةِ وَنَهْلِكْ هُنَاكَ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَنَا قَدْ قَضَى عَلَيْنَا بِالْهَلاكِ، وَأَعْطَانَا مَاءً مَسْمُوماً لِنَشْرَبَهُ، لأَنَّنَا أَخْطَأْنَا فِي حَقِّهِ.

Da vil folket sige: „Hvad venter vi på? Kom, lad os samles i de befæstede byer, for vi vil ikke dø uden kamp. Vores Gud, Herren, har fældet dødsdom over os og rakt os giftbægeret som straf for vores synder.

›Warum sitzen wir hier unschlüssig herum?‹, fragen die Leute von Juda. ›Kommt, wir ziehen uns in die befestigten Städte zurück. Lieber sterben wir dort als hier! Der Herr, unser Gott, hat uns ja doch zum Tod verurteilt; vergiftetes Wasser gibt er uns zu trinken, weil wir gegen ihn gesündigt haben.

«¿Qué hacemos aquí sentados? ¡Venid, y vayámonos juntos a las ciudades fortificadas para morir allí!El Señor nuestro Dios nos está destruyendo. Nos ha dado a beber agua envenenada, porque hemos pecado contra él.

“Dayon magasiling sila, ‘Ti, ano pa ang aton ginahulat? Dali malagyo kita sa napaderan nga mga banwa, kag didto kita magpakamatay. Kay ginsentensyahan na kita nga patyon sang Ginoo nga aton Dios. Daw pareho lang nga ginhatagan niya kita sang tubig nga may hilo agod imnon naton, tungod kay nakasala kita sa iya.

その時、人々はこう言うだろう。『私たちはなぜ、ここでじっと死を待っているのだろう。城壁のある町へ行って、そこで死のう。主は、われわれを滅ぼすことに決め、われわれの罪と引き替えに、毒薬を盛った杯を下さったのだから。

그때 백성들이 이렇게 말할 것이다. “우리가 어찌 가만히 앉아만 있겠느냐? 자, 모여라! 요새 성으로 도망가서 거기서 멸망하자. 우리가 여호와께 범죄하였으므로 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리를 멸망시키기로 작정하시고 우리에게 마실 독을 주셨다.

Dan zullen de mensen zeggen: ‘Waarom zouden we hier op onze dood wachten? Vooruit, laten we naar de ommuurde steden gaan en daar omkomen. Want de Here, onze God, heeft ons lot bezegeld en ons een beker met vergif te drinken gegeven, vanwege al onze zonden.

Por que estamos sentados aqui? Reúnam-se!Fujamos para as cidades fortificadas e pereçamos ali!Pois o Senhor, o nosso Deus, condenou-nos a perecere nos deu água envenenada para beber, porque temos pecado contra ele.

Então o povo dirá: “Porque haveremos então de esperar aqui para morrer? Venham, vamos para as cidades fortificadas e morreremos lá! Porque o Senhor, nosso Deus, decretou a nossa condenação e dá-nos a beber uma taça de veneno, por causa dos nossos pecados.

„De ce mai staţi în aşteptare? Adunaţi-vă!Să intrăm în cetăţile fortificate şi să pierim acolo!Căci Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, ne-a condamnat la moarte şi ne dă să bem ape otrăvite, pentru că am păcătuit împotriva Lui.

Что же мы сидим? Собирайтесь!Побежим в укреплённые города; там и погибнем!Вечный, наш Бог, обрёк нас на погибель и поит нас водой отравленной, потому что мы согрешили против Него.

Varför sitter vi här? Låt oss samlas, gå till de befästa städerna och förgås där. För Herren, vår Gud, låter oss förgås och har gett oss förgiftat vatten att dricka, för vi har syndat mot Herren.

“เราจะมานั่งรอความตายอยู่ที่นี่ทำไม?มาเถิด ไปด้วยกัน!ให้เราหนีไปยังหัวเมืองป้อมปราการต่างๆไปตายเสียที่นั่น!เพราะพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของเราได้กำหนดให้เราพินาศย่อยยับแล้วและทรงยื่นถ้วยยาพิษให้เราดื่มเพราะเราได้ทำบาปต่อพระองค์

他们说：“我们为什么还坐在这里？大家一起进入坚城，死在那里吧！我们的上帝耶和华要毁灭我们，给我们毒药喝，因为我们得罪了祂。

我 们 为 何 静 坐 不 动 呢 ？ 我 们 当 聚 集 ， 进 入 坚 固 城 ， 在 那 里 静 默 不 言 ； 因 为 耶 和 华 ─ 我 们 的 神 使 我 们 静 默 不 言 ， 又 将 苦 胆 水 给 我 们 喝 ， 都 因 我 们 得 罪 了 耶 和 华 。

他們說：「我們為什麼還坐在這裡？大家一起進入堅城，死在那裡吧！我們的上帝耶和華要毀滅我們，給我們毒藥喝，因為我們得罪了祂。
