Jeremiah 5:22

‘Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord.‘Do you not tremble [in awe] in My presence?For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea,An eternal decree and a perpetual barrier beyond which it cannot pass.Though the waves [of the sea] toss and break, yet they cannot prevail [against the sand ordained to hold them back];Though the waves and the billows roar, yet they cannot cross over [the barrier].[Is not such a God to be feared?]

Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Shouldn’t you have respect for me?’ announces the Lord. ‘Shouldn’t you tremble with fear in front of me?I made the sand to hold the ocean back. It will do that forever. The ocean can’t go past it.The waves might roll, but they can’t sweep over it. They might roar, but they can’t go across it.

Should you not fear me?” declares the Lord. “Should you not tremble in my presence?I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross.The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it.

Have you no respect for me? Why don’t you tremble in my presence?I, the Lord, define the ocean’s sandy shoreline as an everlasting boundary that the waters cannot cross.The waves may toss and roar, but they can never pass the boundaries I set.

أَلا تَخْشَوْنَنِي؟»، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ، «أَلا تَرْتَعِدُونَ فِي حَضْرَتِي؟ قَدْ جَعَلْتُ الرَّمْلَ حَدّاً لِمِيَاهِ الْبَحْرِ، حَاجِزاً أَبَدِيًّا لَا يَتَخَطَّاهُ. تَتَلاطَمُ أَمْوَاجُهُ وَلَكِنَّهَا تَعْجَزُ عَنْ تَعَدِّيهِ، وَتَهْدِرُ وَلَكِنَّهَا لَا تَتَجَاوَزُهُ.

Har I da slet ingen ærefrygt for mig? siger Herren. I burde ryste af skræk i min nærhed. Det var jo mig, der skabte strandbredden som en grænse for havet, en grænse, det ikke kan overskride. Bølgerne kan bruse så meget de vil, det gør ingen forskel. De kan tordne og drøne, men ikke overskride den grænse, jeg har sat.’

Ich, der Herr, frage euch: Solltet ihr mich nicht fürchten und vor mir zittern? Ich habe dem Meer eine Grenze aus Sand gesetzt, die es niemals überschreiten kann. Wie wild seine Wellen auch toben, wie hoch die Wogen sich auch türmen – über die Grenze kommen sie nicht hinaus.

¿Acaso has dejado de temerme? —afirma el Señor—.¿No debieras temblar ante mí?Yo puse la arena como límite del mar, como frontera perpetua e infranqueable.Aunque se agiten sus olas, no podrán prevalecer;aunque bramen, no franquearán esa frontera.

Ne me craindrez-vous pas ?demande l’Eternel.Et ne tremblerez-vous pas devant moi,moi qui ai donné à la mer |le sable pour limite,comme une barrière éternelle |qu’elle ne franchira jamais ?Elle bouillonne |mais elle est impuissante,ses flots mugissent |mais ils n’iront pas au-delà.

Ako, ang Ginoo, nagasiling: Wala bala kamo sang kahadlok sa akon? Ti ngaa wala kamo nagakurog sa akon atubangan? Ginhimo ko ang baybayon nga dulunan sang dagat. Ini permanente nga dulunan nga indi malapawan. Mahampak ini sang mga balod pero indi nila ini malapawan.

よく聞くがいい。おまえたちには、わたしを尊敬する気持ちが少しもないのか。わたしの前に出ても恐れおののかないとは、いったいどうしたことか。わたしは永遠の命令を出して、世界中の海岸線を決めた。だから、たとえ海の波がとどろき、逆巻いても、最後の一線を越えることはない。このような神を、恐れもせず、あがめもしないことが許されるだろうか。23-24 ところが、わたしの民はわたしに背き、偶像礼拝に走った。わたしは、春と秋には雨を降らせ、刈り入れの時を与える神なのに、彼らはわたしを敬いもせず、恐れもしない。

어째서 너희는 나를 두려워하지 않느냐? 어째서 너희가 내 앞에서 떨지 않느냐? 내가 모래를 두어 바다의 한계를 정하고 그것으로 영원한 경계를 삼아 그 이상 넘지 못하게 하였으므로 아무리 바다가 넘실거리며 파도가 쳐도 그것을 넘지 못한다.

Hebt u dan helemaal geen ontzag voor Mij?” vraagt de Here God. “Hoe kan het dat u niet eens beeft in mijn aanwezigheid? Ik bepaal de kustlijnen van de wereld als eeuwige grenzen, zodat de zeeën met hun geweld en bulderende golven die afscheidingen nooit kunnen overschrijden. Moet zoʼn God niet worden gevreesd en vereerd? 23,24 Maar mijn volk is koppig en opstandig, het heeft zich tegen Mij gekeerd en is weggelopen. Ook al geef Ik regen in de lente en de herfst en tijd voor de oogsten, toch heeft het geen ontzag voor Mij.

Será que também não me temerão?, pergunta o Senhor. Como pode ser que nem sequer tremem na minha presença? Fui eu quem estabeleceu os limites do mar, com leis perpétuas, de forma que os oceanos, por muito que rujam e que se agitem, nunca ultrapassam essa barreira. Um tal Deus não será ele digno de ser temido e adorado?

‘Nu vă e frică de Mine? zice Domnul. Nu tremuraţi înaintea Mea?Eu am pus nisipul ca hotar al mării, hotar veşnic pe care nu trebuie să-l treacă.Chiar dacă valurile ei se agită, ele nu pot răzbi şi chiar dacă urlă, ele nu-l pot trece.’»

Skulle ni inte frukta mig? säger Herren, skulle ni inte bäva inför mig? Jag satte sanden till havets gräns, till en evig ordning som inte kan överskridas. Dess vågor svallar men dämpas där, de brusar men kommer inte över.

เจ้าควรจะยำเกรงเราไม่ใช่หรือ?” องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประกาศดังนี้“เจ้าควรจะสั่นสะท้านเมื่ออยู่ต่อหน้าเราไม่ใช่หรือ?เราตั้งหาดทรายเป็นขอบเขตให้ทะเลเป็นเครื่องกีดขวางนิรันดร์ซึ่งทะเลจะฝ่าข้ามไปไม่ได้คลื่นอาจจะม้วนตัว แต่ก็เอาชนะไม่ได้มันอาจจะร้องคำราม แต่ก็ล้ำเขตไปไม่ได้

难道你们不敬畏我吗？这是耶和华说的。难道你们在我面前不颤抖吗？我以沙石为海的界限，使水永远不能越过它。汹涌的波涛不能逾越，澎湃的海浪不能漫过。

耶 和 华 说 ： 你 们 怎 麽 不 惧 怕 我 呢 ？ 我 以 永 远 的 定 例 ， 用 沙 为 海 的 界 限 ， 水 不 得 越 过 。 因 此 ， 你 们 在 我 面 前 还 不 战 兢 麽 ？ 波 浪 虽 然 翻 腾 ， 却 不 能 逾 越 ； 虽 然 ? 訇 ， 却 不 能 过 去 。

難道你們不敬畏我嗎？這是耶和華說的。難道你們在我面前不顫抖嗎？我以沙石為海的界限，使水永遠不能越過它。洶湧的波濤不能逾越，澎湃的海浪不能漫過。
