Jeremiah 21:4

‘Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, “Behold, I will turn back and dull the edge of the weapons of war that are in your hands, [those] with which you fight against the king of Babylon and the [b]Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls; and I will bring them into the center of this city (Jerusalem).

Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.

‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel, “Behold, I am about to turn back the weapons of war which are in your hands, with which you are warring against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the wall; and I will gather them into the center of this city.

‘The Lord is the God of Israel. He says, “The king of Babylon and his armies are all around this city. They are getting ready to attack you. You have weapons of war in your hands to fight against them. But I am about to turn your weapons against you. And I will bring your enemies inside this city.

‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am about to turn against you the weapons of war that are in your hands, which you are using to fight the king of Babylon and the Babylonians[b] who are outside the wall besieging you. And I will gather them inside this city.

هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: هَا أَنَا أَرُدُّ أَسْلِحَتَكُمُ الَّتِي بِأَيْدِيكُمُ الَّتِي تُحَارِبُونَ بِها مَلِكَ بَابِلَ وَالْكِلْدَانِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ يُحَاصِرُونَكُمْ مِنْ خَارِجِ السُّورِ، وَأَجْمَعُهُمْ فِي وَسَطِ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةِ.

»So spricht der Herr, der Gott Israels: Noch kämpft ihr vor den Stadttoren gegen Nebukadnezar und die Babylonier, die Jerusalem belagern. Doch ich werde euch zwingen, euch in die Stadt zurückzuziehen und die Waffen niederzulegen.

Voici ce que déclare l’Eternel, le Dieu d’Israël : Les combattants qui luttent avec leurs armes à l’extérieur contre le roi de Babylone et contre les Chaldéens qui vous assiègent, je vais les faire se replier à l’intérieur de cette ville.

’Så säger Herren, Israels Gud: Jag ska göra alla era vapen odugliga i er strid mot kungen av Babylon och mot kaldéerna, som belägrar er. Jag ska samla dem inne i denna stad,
