Jeremiah 14:18

‘If I go out into the field,Then I gaze on those slaughtered with the sword!And if I enter the city,Then I gaze on [those tormented with] the diseases of famine!For both prophet and priest [who should have guided the people]Go about [bewildered and exiled] in a land (Babylon) that they do not know or understand.’”

If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.

إِنْ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الْحُقُولِ أَشْهَدُ قَتْلَى السَّيْفِ، وَإِنْ دَخَلْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ أَرَى ضَحَايَا الْمَجَاعَةِ. وَهَا النَّبِيُّ وَالْكَاهِنُ كِلاهُمَا يَذْهَبَانِ إِلَى أَرْضٍ لَا يَعْرِفَانِهَا».

Går jeg udenfor byen, ser jeg dræbte krigere over det hele. Går jeg gennem byens gader, ser jeg dem, som er helt udmattede af sult. Det er sket, fordi både profeter og præster har udført deres hverv uden en sand forståelse af mig.”

我 若 出 往 田 间 ， 就 见 有 被 刀 杀 的 ； 我 若 进 入 城 内 ， 就 见 有 因 饥 荒 患 病 的 ； 连 先 知 带 祭 司 在 国 中 往 来 ， 也 是 毫 无 知 识 （ 或 译 ： 不 知 怎 样 才 好 ） 。
