Jeremiah 10:5

“They are like scarecrows in a cucumber field;They cannot speak;They have to be carried,Because they cannot walk!Do not be afraid of them,For they can do no harm or evil,Nor can they do any good.”

They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

فَتَكُونُ كَفَزَّاعَةٍ فِي حَقْلِ قِثَّاءٍ لَا تَنْطِقُ، بَلْ تُحْمَلُ لأَنَّهَا عَاجِزَةٌ عَنِ الْمَشْيِ. فَلا تَخَافُوهَا لأَنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّ وَلا تَنْفَعُ».

Sådan nogle afguder er som fugleskræmsler i en melonmark. De kan ikke tale, og de må bæres omkring, for de kan ikke gå. Dem skal I ikke være bange for. De kan ikke gøre nogen fortræd, men de gør heller ingen gavn.”

Und dann steht sie da, die Götterfigur, wie eine Vogelscheuche im Gurkenfeld! Sie kann weder reden noch gehen, sie muss getragen werden. Fürchtet euch nicht vor diesen Göttern! Sie können euch nichts Böses tun, und noch weniger können sie euch helfen.«

Ces dieux-là sont semblables |à des épouvantails |dans un champ de concombres :ils ne savent parler,il faut qu’on les transportecar ils ne marchent pas.Ne les craignez donc pas :ils ne font pas de mal ;et ils ne peuvent pas |non plus faire du bien.

Ini nga mga dios-dios pareho sang tawo-tawo sa tunga sang talamnan nga indi makahambal. Kinahanglan pa ini nga hakwaton kay indi ini makalakat. Indi kamo magkahadlok sa sini nga mga dios-dios kay indi ini makahalit. Indi man ini makahimo sing maayo.”

かかしのように立っているだけの神は、ものも言えない。歩けないから、だれかが運んでやらなければならない。そんな神は、人に災いを下すことも助けることもできず、わずかな利益も与えられないのだから、少しも怖がることはない。」

그들이 이렇게 해서 만든 우상은 [a]들판의 허수아비처럼 말도 못하고 걸어다니지도 못하므로 사람이 운반해 주어야 한다. 너희는 그런 것을 두려워하지 말아라. 그것은 화를 주거나 복을 주지 못한다.”

En daar staat hun god dan, als een hulpeloze vogelverschrikker in een tuin! Hij kan niet praten en moet gedragen worden, want lopen kan hij ook niet. Wees niet bang voor zoʼn god, want hij baat u niet en schaadt u niet. U hoeft er helemaal niets van te verwachten.’

Como um espantalho numa plantação de pepinos,os ídolos são incapazes de falar,e têm que ser transportados porque não conseguem andar.Não tenham medo deles,pois não podem fazer nem mal nem bem”.

E ali fica o seu deus como um espantalho mudo num campo cultivado! Não pode falar e tem de ser transportado, porque não se desloca por si próprio. Não tenham medo dum deus assim, porque não vos pode fazer mal nenhum nem tão-pouco ajudar! Não vos serve para coisa nenhuma!”

Asemenea unor sperietori într-un ogor de castraveţi, idolii lor nu pot vorbi;ei sunt purtaţi de alţii, căci nu pot merge.Să nu vă temeţi de ei, căci nu vă pot face nici un rău şi nu sunt în stare să vă facă nici un bine.’»“

Som fågelskrämmor på gurkfältet står de där.” De kan inte tala, och man måste bära dem eftersom de inte kan gå. Var inte rädd för dem, för de kan inte göra något ont, och något gott förmår de ju inte heller.

เทวรูปเหล่านั้นเหมือนหุ่นไล่กาในสวนแตงมันพูดไม่ได้ต้องอาศัยคนยกไปเพราะมันเดินไม่ได้อย่าไปกลัวเทพเจ้าเหล่านั้นเพราะมันทำอะไรไม่ได้ไม่ว่าทำประโยชน์หรือทำร้าย”

它们像瓜园中的稻草人，不能说话，不能行走，需要人搬运。你们不要怕它们，它们既不能害人，也不能助人。”

他 好 像 棕 树 ， 是 镟 成 的 ， 不 能 说 话 ， 不 能 行 走 ， 必 须 有 人 抬 着 。 你 们 不 要 怕 他 ； 他 不 能 降 祸 ， 也 无 力 降 福 。
