Isaiah 8:19

When the people [instead of trusting God] say to you, “Consult the mediums [who try to talk to the dead] and the soothsayers who chirp and whisper and mutter,” should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

When they say to you, “Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,” should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

There are people who get messages from those who have died. But these people only whisper words that are barely heard. Suppose someone tells you to ask for advice from these people. Shouldn’t you ask for advice from your God instead? Why should you get advice from dead people to help those who are alive?

When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?

وَعِنْدَمَا يَقُولُ النَّاسُ لَكَ: اسْأَلْ أَصْحَابَ التَّوَابِعِ وَالْعَرَّافِينَ الْمُتَهَامِسِينَ الْمُجَمْجِمِينَ قُلْ: أَلَيْسَ عَلَى الشَّعْبِ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ إِلَهَهُ؟ أَعَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَسْأَلُوا الأَمْوَاتَ عَنِ الأَحْيَاءِ؟

Måske vil nogle sige til jer: „Prøv at spørge de clairvoyante til råds, dem der mumler og hvisker. Skal man ikke søge råd hos sine guder og adspørge de døde angående de levende,

Doch die Leute lehnen das Wort des Herrn ab. Sie suchen lieber Rat bei Menschen, die mit den Geistern der Verstorbenen Verbindung aufnehmen, oder sie befragen Wahrsager, die geheimnisvoll flüstern und murmeln. Wenn sie auch euch dazu verführen wollen, dann entgegnet: »Warum wendet ihr euch nicht eurem Gott zu? Wissen die Toten etwa mehr über die Lebenden als der Herr?«

Lorsqu’on viendra vous dire : « Allez donc consulter ceux qui évoquent les esprits, ceux qui prédisent l’avenir, ceux qui chuchotent et marmottent ! Les peuples ne doivent-ils pas consulter leurs dieux et s’adresser aux morts en faveur des vivants ? », alors vous répondrez :

Kon may magsiling sa inyo nga magpangayo kamo sang mensahi halin sa mga patay paagi sa mga babaylan kag espiritista, indi ninyo paghimuon. Magpamangkot kamo sa inyo Dios. Ina sila nagakutib-kutib lang sang ila baba. Kag ngaa mamangkot kamo sa mga patay para sa mga buhi?

だというのに、なぜあなたがたは魔術師や霊媒師などに相談し、将来どんなことが起こるかを知ろうとするのですか。彼らのささやきや呪文を聞いてはなりません。そもそも生きている者が、死んだ人間から将来のことを聞き出せるものでしょうか。知りたかったら、どうして神に直接尋ねないのですか。

그러나 사람들은 너희에게 속삭이며 중얼거리는 영매와 마법사에게 가서 물어 보라고 말할 것이다. 너희는 그들의 말을 듣지 말아라. 어째서 하나님에게 물어 보지 않고 산 자를 위하여 죽은 자에게 물어야 하겠느냐?

Dus waarom probeert u de toekomst te leren kennen door spiritisme en waarzeggerij? Luister niet naar dat geklets en gemompel. Kunnen de levenden van de doden iets over de toekomst leren? Waarom vraagt u het uw God niet?
