Isaiah 49:4

Then I said, “I have labored in vain,I have spent My strength for nothing and vanity (pride, uselessness);However My justice is with the Lord,And My reward is with My God.”

Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God.

But I said, “I’ve worked for nothing. I’ve nothing to show for a life of hard work.Nevertheless, I’ll let God have the last word. I’ll let him pronounce his verdict.” 5-6 “And now,” God says, this God who took me in hand from the moment of birth to be his servant,To bring Jacob back home to him, to set a reunion for Israel—What an honor for me in God’s eyes! That God should be my strength!He says, “But that’s not a big enough job for my servant— just to recover the tribes of Jacob, merely to round up the strays of Israel.I’m setting you up as a light for the nations so that my salvation becomes global!”

But I said, “I have toiled in vain,I have spent My strength for nothing and vanity;Yet surely the justice due to Me is with the Lord,And My reward with My God.”

But I said, “In spite of my hard work, I feel as if I haven’t accomplished anything.I’ve used up all my strength. It seems as if everything I’ve done is worthless.But the Lord will give me what I should receive. My God will reward me.”

But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing at all.Yet what is due me is in the Lord’s hand, and my reward is with my God.”

But I said, ‘I have laboured in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing at all.Yet what is due to me is in the Lord’s hand, and my reward is with my God.’

I replied, “But my work seems so useless! I have spent my strength for nothing and to no purpose.Yet I leave it all in the Lord’s hand; I will trust God for my reward.”

وَلَكِنَّنِي أَجَبْتُ: «لَقَدْ تَعِبْتُ بَاطِلاً. وَأَفْنَيْتُ قُوَّتِي سُدىً وَعَبَثاً. غَيْرَ أَنَّ حَقِّي مَحْفُوظٌ عِنْدَ الرَّبِّ، وَمَكَافَأَتِي عِنْدَ إِلَهِي».

Jeg følte, at min tjeneste havde været forgæves, for jeg havde slidt hårdt i det uden mærkbare resultater. Men det er Gud selv, som må vurdere mit arbejde.

Ich aber dachte: »Vergeblich habe ich mich abgemüht, für nichts und wieder nichts meine Kraft vergeudet. Dennoch weiß ich, dass der Herr für mein Recht sorgt, von ihm, meinem Gott, erhalte ich meinen Lohn.«

Y respondí: «En vano he trabajado; he gastado mis fuerzas sin provecho alguno.Pero mi justicia está en manos del Señor; mi recompensa está con mi Dios».

Cependant, moi, j’ai dit :« Je me suis fatigué pour rien,c’est inutilement, |oui, c’est en pure perte, |que j’ai usé mes forces …Mais l’Eternel me fera droitet il tient en réserve |ma récompense. »

Pero nagsiling ako, “Ang akon pagpangabudlay wala man lang sing pulos; gin-usikan ko ang akon kusog sa wala sing kapuslanan.” Pero ginatugyan ko lang ini sa Ginoo nga akon Dios; siya ang magabalos sa akon mga ginhimo.

私は答えました。「しかし、私のこれまでの仕事はみな失敗に終わりました。力を使い果たしましたが、何の手ごたえもありません。どうぞ、お心のままに報いてください。」

그러나 나는 “내가 공연히 수고하였으며 쓸데없이 내 힘을 다 쏟았다” 고 말하였다. 그렇지만 여호와께서 나를 변호해 주실 것이며 내가 한 일에 대해서 상을 주실 것이다.

Ik antwoordde: ‘Maar mijn werk voor hen lijkt zo nutteloos, ik heb mijn krachten voor hen ingezet, maar ik kreeg geen enkele reactie. Mijn beloning laat ik aan God over.’

Mas eu disse: Tenho me afadigado sem qualquer propósito;tenho gastado minha força em vão e para nada.Contudo, o que me é devido está na mão do Senhor,e a minha recompensa está com o meu Deus.

Repliquei: ‘Mas o meu trabalho a favor deles parece-me em vão! Gastei com eles a minha força, inutilmente, sem resposta. Contudo, deixei com Deus a questão do meu direito; deixei com o Senhor o problema da minha recompensa.’

Dar Eu am zis: ‘Am trudit degeaba, Mi-am irosit puterea pentru nimic şi fără nici un folos;totuşi cauza Mea este în grija domnului, iar răsplata Mea este la Dumnezeul Meu.’

Но Я сказал: «Я трудился напрасно; Я зря, впустую растратил силы.И всё-таки Вечный оправдает Меня, и награда Моя – у Моего Бога».

Jag sa: ’Förgäves har jag tröttat ut mig, förgäves och fåfängt förbrukat min kraft. Ändå är min rätt hos Herren och min lön hos min Gud.’

แต่ข้าพเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ข้าพเจ้าตรากตรำไปอย่างไร้จุดหมายลงแรงไปโดยเปล่าประโยชน์และไร้ค่าถึงกระนั้นสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าควรได้ก็อยู่ในพระหัตถ์ขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าบำเหน็จของข้าพเจ้าอยู่ที่พระเจ้าของข้าพเจ้า”

但我说：“我虚耗精力，徒劳无功。然而，耶和华必公正地待我，我的报酬在我的上帝那里。”

我 却 说 ： 我 劳 碌 是 徒 然 ； 我 尽 力 是 虚 无 虚 空 。 然 而 ， 我 当 得 的 理 必 在 耶 和 华 那 里 ； 我 的 赏 赐 必 在 我 神 那 里 。

但我說：「我虛耗精力，徒勞無功。然而，耶和華必公正地待我，我的報酬在我的上帝那裡。」
