Isaiah 48:5

I have declared them to you long ago;Before they came to pass I announced them to you,So that you could not say, ‘My idol has done them,And my carved image and my cast image have commanded them.’

I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.

Therefore I declared them to you long ago,Before [c]they took place I proclaimed them to you,So that you would not say, ‘My idol has done them,And my graven image and my molten image have commanded them.’

So I told you those things long ago. Before they happened I announced them to you.I did it so you would not be able to say, ‘My statues of gods did them. My wooden and metal gods made them happen.’

Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to youso that you could not say, ‘My images brought them about; my wooden image and metal god ordained them.’

لِهَذَا أَنْبَأْتُ بِها مُنْذُ الْقِدَمِ وَأَعْلَنْتُهَا لَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَتَحَقَّقَ، لِئَلَّا تَقُولَ: إِنَّ وَثَنِي قَدْ صَنَعَهَا، وَتِمْثَالِي الْمَنْحُوتَ وَإِلَهِي الْمَسْبُوكَ قَدَ قَضَى بِها.

Derfor sagde jeg på forhånd, hvad der ville ske, så I ikke senere skulle sige: ‚Det var mit gudebillede, som befalede, at det skulle ske.’

だから、これからしようとすることを、あらかじめ知らせておいたのだ。あなたに、『私の偶像がしたのだ。私の彫像が、そうなるようにと命令したのだ』と言わせないためである。

그래서 내가 오래 전에 장래 일을 예언하였고 그 일이 일어나기도 전에 그것을 너에게 알려 주었으니 이것은 네 우상과 신상이 그런 일을 행하며 그런 일이 일어나게 했다고 네가 말하지 못하게 하기 위해서였다.

Daarom vertelde Ik u van tevoren wat Ik ging doen, zodat u nooit zou kunnen zeggen: ‘Mijn afgod deed dit, mijn beeld liet het gebeuren!’
