Isaiah 21:5

They set the table [for the doomed banquet], they spread out the cloth, they eat, they drink;“Rise up, captains [of Belshazzar’s court], oil your shields [for battle, for your enemy is at the gates]!”

Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

The banquet is spread, the guests reclining in luxurious ease,Eating and drinking, having a good time, and then, “To arms, princes! The fight is on!” 6-9 The Master told me, “Go, post a lookout. Have him report whatever he spots.When he sees horses and wagons in battle formation, lines of donkeys and columns of camels,Tell him to keep his ear to the ground, note every whisper, every rumor.”Just then, the lookout shouted, “I’m at my post, Master,Sticking to my post day after day and all through the night!I watched them come, the horses and wagons in battle formation.I heard them call out the war news in headlines: ‘Babylon fallen! Fallen!And all its precious god-idols smashed to pieces on the ground.’”

In my vision the Babylonians set the tables. They spread out the rugs. They eat and drink.Get up, you officers! Rub your shields with oil!

Look! They are preparing a great feast. They are spreading rugs for people to sit on. Everyone is eating and drinking.But quick! Grab your shields and prepare for battle. You are being attacked!

أَعَدُّوا مَائِدَةً وَفَرَشُوا السَّجَاجِيدَ، أَكَلُوا وَشَرِبُوا، فَانْهَضُوا يَا أُمَرَاءُ، وَادْهِنُوا بِالزَّيْتِ تُرُوسَكُمْ.

Jeg ser, at der dækkes op til fest, hynderne lægges ud, og folk sætter sig til bords. Men pludselig lyder råbet: „Grib jeres våben og gør jer klar til kamp!”

Doch in Babylon feiert man sorglos ein großes Bankett: Die Tische sind gedeckt, die Polster zurechtgerückt; man isst und trinkt. Da – plötzlich ein Schrei: »Auf, ihr Fürsten, greift zu den Waffen! Schnell, macht eure Schilde bereit!«

On prépare une table ;d’une nappe, on la couvre,on mange, on boit[c].Soudain, un cri d’effroi : |« Levez-vous, capitaines !Graissez vos boucliers ! »

見なさい。彼らは宴の準備をしています。テーブルにごちそうを山盛りにし、いすを並べて、まさに食べようとするところです。もうすぐ敵が攻めて来ます。さあ、急いで盾を取り、戦いの支度をしなさい。6-7 主は幻の中で私に命じました。「城壁には見張りを立て、変わったことがあったら大声で報告させなさい。見張りの者が、ろばやらくだに乗った二列の騎兵が見えると言ったら、『それだ』と声をかけてやるのだ。」8-9 私は言われたとおり、城壁に見張りを立てました。やがて、声を振り絞るようにして、見張りの者が報告してきました。「来る日も来る日も、片時も休まず見張ったかいがありました。ほら、二列に並んだ騎兵がやって来ます。」その時、彼らの大きな声が響き渡りました。「バビロンは倒れた。倒れた。バビロンの偶像は一つ残らず無残に壊され、投げ捨てられた。」

Als hij een groep mannen ziet komen die twee-aan-twee op ezels en kamelen rijden, zeg dan tegen hem: “Dat zijn ze, houd ze goed in de gaten!” ’ 8,9 En ik zette een uitkijk op de muur en uiteindelijk schreeuwde hij: ‘Heer, ik heb dag en nacht op wacht gestaan! En nu eindelijk, kijk! Daar komen zij die twee-aan-twee rijden!’ Toen hoorde ik een stem die riep: ‘Babel is gevallen en alle afgoden van Babel liggen gebroken op de grond.’
