Isaiah 14:11

‘Your pomp and magnificence have been brought down to Sheol,Along with the music of your harps;The maggots [which prey on the dead] are spread out under you [as a bed]And worms are your covering [Babylonian rulers].’

Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

This is where your pomp and fine music led you, Babylon, to your underworld private chambers,A king-size mattress of maggots for repose and a quilt of crawling worms for warmth.

‘Your pomp and the music of your harpsHave been brought down to Sheol;Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath youAnd worms are your covering.’

Your grand show of power has been brought down to the grave. The noise of your harps has come down here along with your power.Maggots are spread out under you. Worms cover you.

طُرِحَتْ كُلُّ عَظَمَتِكَ فِي الْهَاوِيَةِ مَعَ رَنَّةِ عِيدَانِكَ، وَأَصْبَحَتِ الرِّمَمُ فِرَاشَكَ وَالدُّودُ غِطَاءً لَكَ!

Din herlighed endte i dødsriget, harpernes klang forstummede.Dit leje er redt med råddenskab, dit tæppe er larver og orme.

Dahin ist deine Pracht,du nahmst sie mit ins Grab.Die Musik deiner Harfenspieler ist verstummt.Nun liegst du auf einem Bett von Maden,und Würmer decken dich zu.

Uw macht en kracht zijn verdwenen, zij zijn met u begraven. De klanken van prachtige muziek in uw paleis zijn weggestorven, de wormen zijn voortaan uw matras, de maden uw deken!
