Haggai 2:14

Then Haggai answered, “‘So is this people. And so is this nation before Me,’ declares the Lord, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there [on the altar] is unclean [because they who offer it are unclean].

Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.

Then Haggai said, “‘So, this people is contaminated. Their nation is contaminated. Everything they do is contaminated. Whatever they do for me is contaminated.’ God says so. 15-17 “‘Think back. Before you set out to lay the first foundation stones for the rebuilding of my Temple, how did it go with you? Isn’t it true that your foot-dragging, halfhearted efforts at rebuilding the Temple of God were reflected in a sluggish, halfway return on your crops—half the grain you were used to getting, half the wine? I hit you with drought and blight and hail. Everything you were doing got hit. But it didn’t seem to faze you. You continued to ignore me.’ God’s Decree. 18-19 “‘Now think ahead from this same date—this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Think ahead from when the Temple rebuilding was launched. Has anything in your fields—vine, fig tree, pomegranate, olive tree—failed to flourish? From now on you can count on a blessing.’” 20-21 God’s Message came a second time to Haggai on that most memorable day, the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month: “Speak to Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah: 21-23 “‘I am about to shake up everything, to turn everything upside down and start over from top to bottom—overthrow governments, destroy foreign powers, dismantle the world of weapons and armaments, throw armies into confusion, so that they end up killing one another. And on that day’”—this is God’s Message—“‘I will take you, O Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, as my personal servant and I will set you as a signet ring, the sign of my sovereign presence and authority. I’ve looked over the field and chosen you for this work.’” The Message of God-of-the-Angel-Armies.

Then Haggai said, “‘So is this people. And so is this nation before Me,’ declares the Lord, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.

Then here is what Haggai said. “The Lord announces, ‘That is how I look at these people and this nation. Anything they do and anything they sacrifice on the altar is “unclean.”

Then Haggai said, “‘So it is with this people and this nation in my sight,’ declares the Lord. ‘Whatever they do and whatever they offer there is defiled.

Then Haggai said, ‘“So it is with this people and this nation in my sight,” declares the Lord. “Whatever they do and whatever they offer there is defiled.

Then Haggai responded, “That is how it is with this people and this nation, says the Lord. Everything they do and everything they offer is defiled by their sin.

عِنْدَئِذٍ قَالَ حَجَّي: «هَذَا هُوَ حَالُ الشَّعْبِ، وَهَذَا هُوَ حَالُ الأُمَّةِ أَمَامِي يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ، فَكُلُّ أَعْمَالِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَجَمِيعُ مَا يُقَدِّمُونَهُ نَجِسٌ.

Derefter sagde Haggaj: „Herren siger: Sådan var det også med jer, mit folk. I var urene i jeres forhold til mig. Derfor lykkedes jeres arbejde ikke, og jeres ofringer kunne jeg ikke acceptere.

Da sagte Haggai: »So spricht der Herr: Genau dasselbe gilt für euer Volk! Alles, was ihr tut, ist unrein in meinen Augen, und darum sind es auch die Opfer, die ihr mir darbringt!

Alors Aggée reprit et dit : Ainsi en est-il de ce peuple. Voilà ce qu’est cette nation à mes yeux – l’Eternel le déclare. Ainsi en est-il aussi de toutes leurs réalisations et de tout ce qu’ils m’offrent là : c’est impur[h]. La bénédiction promise

‘Nee, natuurlijk niet,’ antwoordden de priesters. ‘Heiligheid gaat niet zomaar van het ene op het andere over.’ Toen vroeg Haggai: ‘Maar als iemand een lijk aanraakt en zo volgens de wet onrein wordt en dan iets aanraakt, wordt dat dan onrein?’ ‘Ja, inderdaad,’ antwoordden de priesters.

Ageu então esclareceu: “Assim é este povo, diz o Senhor, que contamina os seus sacrifícios, vivendo de forma egoísta, tendo corações impuros, e não apenas os seus sacrifícios, mas tudo aquilo que fazem como serviço para mim. Dessa forma, tudo o que têm feito tem sido errado.

Då frågade Haggaj: ”Men om någon som blivit oren genom en död kropp råkar komma i beröring med något av allt detta, blir detta då orent?” ”Ja,” svarade prästerna, ”det blir orent.”
