Habakkuk 2:6

“Will all these [victims of his greed] not take up a taunting song against him,And in mocking derision against himSay, ‘[a]Woe (judgment is coming) to him who increases that which is not his—How long [will he possess it]?And [woe to him who] makes himself wealthy with loans.’

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!

“Won’t those people laugh at the Babylonians? Won’t they make fun of them? They will say to them,“ ‘How terrible it will be for you who pile up stolen goods!You get rich by cheating others. How long will this go on?’

“Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying,“‘Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?’

وَلَكِنْ لَا يَلْبَثُ أَنْ يَسْخَرَ مِنْهُ سَبَايَاهُ قَائِلِينَ: ’وَيْلٌ لِمَنْ يُكَوِّمُ لِنَفْسِهِ الأَسْلابَ، وَيَثْرَى عَلَى حِسَابِ مَا نَهَبَ. إِنَّمَا إِلَى مَتَى؟‘

Engang vil de undertrykte folkeslag håne dem og sige:„Ve jer, der stjæler og røver fra andre. Hvor længe vil I udnytte andre for selv at blive rige?”
