Exodus 23:8

“You shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the testimony and the cause of the righteous.

And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

“Don’t take bribes. Bribes blind perfectly good eyes and twist the speech of good people.

“You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and [e]subverts the cause of the just.

“Do not take money from people who want special favors. It makes you blind to the truth. It twists the words of good people.

“Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.

“Take no bribes, for a bribe makes you ignore something that you clearly see. A bribe makes even a righteous person twist the truth.

لَا تَقْبَلْ رِشْوَةً لأَنَّ الرِّشْوَةَ تُعْمِي الْمُبْصِرِينَ وَتُحَرِّفُ أَقْوَالَ الصَّالِحِينَ.

Tag ikke imod bestikkelse, for bestikkelse får folk til at lukke øjnene for sandheden og modvirker, at retfærdigheden kan ske fyldest.

Nimm keine Bestechungsgeschenke an, denn sie machen die Sehenden blind und verleiten dazu, das Recht zu beugen.

Neem geen steekpenningen aan, want steekpenningen staan een eerlijk oordeel in de weg en kunnen een onschuldige benadelen.

“Não aceite suborno, pois o suborno cega até os que têm discernimento[b] e prejudica a causa do justo.
