Exodus 16:27

Now on the seventh day some of the people went out to gather, but they found none.

And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

On the seventh day, some of the people went out to gather anyway but they didn’t find anything. 28-29 God said to Moses, “How long are you going to disobey my commands and not follow my instructions? Don’t you see that God has given you the Sabbath? So on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. So, each of you, stay home. Don’t leave home on the seventh day.”

It came about on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, but they found none.

そう言われたにもかかわらず、ある者は安息日に食べ物を集めに出かけました。しかし、やはり何も見つかりませんでした。 28-29 主はあきれてモーセに告げました。「いつになったら、この民は言うことを聞くのか。六日目にいつもの二倍を与えるのは、二日分の量が十分あるようにということなのがわからないのか。七日は休息の日としてわたしが与えたのだから、テントの中にいて、食べ物を取りになど外へ出たりしないようにしなさい。」

7일째 되는 날에도 어떤 사람들은 그것을 거두러 나갔으나 얻지 못하였다.

Toen enkele mensen op de ochtend van de zevende dag toch gingen zoeken, vonden zij niets. Daarom zei de Here tegen Mozes: 28,29 ‘Hoelang zullen deze mensen blijven weigeren Mij te gehoorzamen? De Here heeft de sabbat ingesteld en daarom geeft Hij op de zesde dag brood voor twee dagen. Iedereen moet in zijn tent blijven en niet naar brood gaan zoeken.’
