Ecclesiastes 9:15

But there was found in it a poor wise man, and by his wisdom he rescued the city. Yet no man [seriously] remembered that poor man.

وَكَانَ يُقِيمُ فِي تِلْكَ الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ مِسْكِينٌ حَكِيمٌ أَنْقَذَ الْمَدِينَةَ بِفَضْلِ حِكْمَتِهِ. وَلَكِنَّ أَحَداً لَمْ يَذْكُرْهُ.

I byen boede der en fattig mand, som ingen regnede for noget. Men han var klog, og takket være hans visdom blev byen reddet.

In der Stadt lebte ein armer Mann, der war sehr weise. Er hätte die Stadt durch seine Weisheit retten können, aber niemand dachte an ihn.

Didto sa amo nga siyudad may isa ka tawo nga imol pero maalamon, nga sarang kuntani makaluwas sa sini nga siyudad paagi sa iya kaalam. Pero wala gid sing may nakadumdom sa iya.[e]

この町に、知恵はありながら非常に貧しい人がいました。この人は町を救う方法を知っており、力を尽くして町を攻撃から守りました。ところが、あとになると、誰ひとり彼のことを思い出さないのです。

이때 그 성 안에 가난하지만 아주 지혜로운 사람이 하나 있었다. 그가 지혜로 그 성을 구했으나 그 후에 이 가난한 자를 기억하는 사람은 하나도 없었다.

In dat stadje woonde een wijze, arme man, die wist wat er moest gebeuren om de stad te redden, maar niemand dacht eraan hem om raad te vragen.

I staden fanns det en vis men fattig man, och han räddade staden med sin vishet. Men sedan var det ingen som kom ihåg honom.
