Ecclesiastes 7:16

Do not be excessively righteous [like those given to self-conceit], and do not be overly wise (pretentious)—why should you bring yourself to ruin?

Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself ?

Do not be excessively righteous and do not be overly wise. Why should you ruin yourself?

Don’t claim to be better than you are. And don’t claim to be wiser than you are. Why destroy yourself?

لَا تُغَالِ فِي بِرِّكَ وَلا تُبَالِغْ فِي حِكْمَتِكَ، إِذْ لِمَاذَا تُهْلِكُ نَفْسَكَ؟

Tro ikke, at Gud automatisk velsigner dig på grund af din store godhed eller visdom. Du kunne blive dybt skuffet.

Sei nicht allzu fromm und übertreib es nicht mit deiner Weisheit! Warum willst du dich selbst zugrunde richten?

지나치게 의로운 사람이 되지 말고 지나치게 지혜로운 사람도 되지 말아라. 스스로 패망할 이유가 무엇인가?

I mitt meningslösa liv har jag sett att den rättfärdige går under i sin rättfärdighet och den gudlöse lever länge i sin ondska.
