Ecclesiastes 3:19

For the [earthly] fate of the sons of men and the fate of animals is the same. As one dies, so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no preeminence or advantage for man [in and of himself] over an animal, for all is vanity.

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts [h]is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is [i]vanity.

Surely what happens to animals happens to people too. Death waits for people and animals alike. People die, just as animals do. All of them have the same breath. People don’t have any advantage over animals. Nothing has any meaning.

Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath[c]; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless.

لأَنَّ مَا يَحُلُّ بِأَبْنَاءِ الْبَشَرِ يَحُلُّ بِالْبَهَائِمِ. فَكَمَا يَمُوتُ الْوَاحِدُ مِنَ النَّاسِ يَمُوتُ الآخَرُ مِنَ الْبَهَائِمِ، فَلِكِلَيْهِمَا نَسَمَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ، وَلَيْسَ لِلإِنْسَانِ فَضْلٌ عَلَى الْبَهِيمَةِ، فَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ بَاطِلٌ.

Denn auf Mensch und Tier wartet das gleiche Schicksal: Beiden gab Gott das Leben, und beide müssen sterben. Der Mensch hat dem Tier nichts voraus, denn auch er ist vergänglich.

Car le sort des humains est identique au sort des bêtes : ils meurent les uns comme les autres. Un même souffle les anime tous. L’avantage de l’homme sur l’animal est donc nul. Ainsi tout est dérisoire.

人間も動物も、同じ空気を吸い、同じように死んでいきます。人間が獣より優れている点などないのです。なんとむなしいことでしょう。

결국 사람이나 짐승에게는 같은 운명이 기다리고 있다. 이것이 죽으면 저것도 죽는다. 사람과 짐승은 다 같이 호흡하는 동물일 뿐 사람이 짐승보다 나은 것이 없으니 모든 것이 헛될 뿐이다.

Want mensen en dieren ademen allebei dezelfde lucht in en sterven ook allebei. De mensheid heeft in feite dus niets vóór op de dierenwereld, wat zinloos eigenlijk!

O destino do homem é o mesmo do animal; o mesmo destino os aguarda. Assim como morre um, também morre o outro. Todos têm o mesmo fôlego de vida[b]; o homem não tem vantagem alguma sobre o animal. Nada faz sentido!

Pois tanto estes como aqueles respiram o mesmo ar e ambos morrem. A humanidade não tem vantagens reais sobre os animais. Eis outra coisa absurda!

Căci soarta omului şi soarta animalului sunt una şi aceeaşi: cum moare unul, moare şi celălalt. Amândoi au aceeaşi suflare, iar omul nu are parte de nimic în plus faţă de animal. Totul este deşertăciune!

Människor och djur har samma öde. Den ene dör liksom den andre, och båda har samma livsande. Människan har inget företräde framför djuren. Allting är meningslöst.

ชะตากรรมของมนุษย์ก็เหมือนของสัตว์ ทั้งสองมีอันเป็นไปเหมือนกัน ฝ่ายหนึ่งตาย อีกฝ่ายหนึ่งก็ตาย ต่างก็มีลมปราณ[b]เช่นกัน มนุษย์ไม่ได้เปรียบมากกว่าสัตว์ ทุกสิ่งล้วนอนิจจัง

因为人和兽的际遇并无分别，两者都难逃一死，活着都靠一口气。人并不比兽强，一切都是虚空。

因 为 世 人 遭 遇 的 ， 兽 也 遭 遇 ， 所 遭 遇 的 都 是 一 样 ： 这 个 怎 样 死 ， 那 个 也 怎 样 死 ， 气 息 都 是 一 样 。 人 不 能 强 於 兽 ， 都 是 虚 空 。

因為人和獸的際遇並無分別，兩者都難逃一死，活著都靠一口氣。人並不比獸強，一切都是虛空。
