Deuteronomy 25:7

But if the man does not want to marry his brother’s [widowed] wife, then she shall go up to the gate [of the city, where court is held] to the elders, and say, ‘My brother-in-law refuses to continue his brother’s name in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband’s brother.’

And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.

But if the man does not desire to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to establish a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.’

But suppose the man doesn’t want to marry his brother’s wife. Then she will go to the elders at the gate of the town. She will say, “My husband’s brother refuses to keep his brother’s name alive in Israel. He won’t do for me what a brother-in-law is supposed to do.”

However, if a man does not want to marry his brother’s wife, she shall go to the elders at the town gate and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to carry on his brother’s name in Israel. He will not fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to me.”

However, if a man does not want to marry his brother’s wife, she shall go to the elders at the town gate and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to carry on his brother’s name in Israel. He will not fulfil the duty of a brother-in-law to me.’

“But if the man refuses to marry his brother’s widow, she must go to the town gate and say to the elders assembled there, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to preserve his brother’s name in Israel—he refuses to fulfill the duties of a brother-in-law by marrying me.’

وَإِنْ أَبَى الرَّجُلُ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَخِيهِ، تَمْضِي الْمَرْأَةُ إِلَى بَوَّابَةِ شُيُوخِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَتَقُولُ: قَدْ رَفَضَ أَخُو زَوْجِي أَنْ يُخَلِّدَ اسْماً لأَخِيهِ فِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَلَمْ يَشَأْ أَنْ يَقُومَ نَحْوِي بِوَاجِبِ أَخِي الزَّوْجِ.

Men hvis den afdødes bror nægter at gifte sig med enken, skal hun gå til byens ledere og sige: ‚Min svoger vil ikke gifte sig med mig. Derved nægter han at føre sin afdøde brors slægt videre.’

»Si tal hombre no quiere casarse con la viuda de su hermano, ella recurrirá a los ancianos, a la entrada de la ciudad, y les dirá: “Mi cuñado no quiere mantener vivo en Israel el nombre de su hermano. Se niega a cumplir conmigo su deber de cuñado”.

Si cet homme n’a pas envie d’épouser sa belle-sœur, elle se rendra à la porte de la ville vers les responsables et leur dira : « Mon beau-frère refuse de perpétuer le nom de son frère en Israël, il ne veut pas remplir son devoir de beau-frère. »

“Pero kon indi gusto pangasaw-on sang utod sang napatay ang balo, magkadto ang balo sa mga manugdumala didto sa puwertahan sang banwa kag magsiling, ‘Indi magsugot ang akon bayaw nga hatagan niya sang kaliwat ang iya utod sa Israel. Indi niya pagtumanon ang iya katungdanan sa akon bilang bayaw.’

兄弟が結婚したがらず、義務を果たさないときは、町の長老に、『夫の兄弟は夫の名を残そうとせず、私と結婚してくれません』と訴え出なさい。

그러나 죽은 사람의 형제가 그 미망인과 결혼하기를 싫어하면 그 여자는 성의 지도자들에게 가서 ‘내 남편의 형제가 나와 결혼하기를 거절하며 자기 형제의 대를 잇게 하는 의무를 이행하지 않으려고 합니다’ 하고 말해야 합니다.

Maar als de broer van de overleden man weigert zijn plicht te doen en niet met de weduwe wil trouwen, zal zij naar de leiders van de stad gaan en zeggen: “De broer van mijn man weigert de naam van zijn broer te laten voortbestaan, hij weigert zijn plicht na te komen en met mij te trouwen.”

Om den dödes bror vägrar att fullgöra sin plikt och gifta sig med sin svägerska, ska hon gå till de äldste i stadsporten och säga: ”Min mans bror vägrar att låta sin brors släkt föras vidare och att fullgöra sina skyldigheter som svåger mot mig.”

แต่หากพี่น้องของผู้ตายไม่ยอมแต่งงานกับหญิงม่ายผู้นั้น นางจะไปหาบรรดาผู้อาวุโสที่ประตูเมืองและกล่าวว่า “พี่น้องสามีของดิฉันไม่ยอมสืบชื่อของผู้ตายในอิสราเอล เขาไม่ยอมทำหน้าที่พี่น้องสามีต่อดิฉัน”

如果死者的兄弟不愿娶那寡妇，她要到城门口见长老们，告诉他们，‘我丈夫的兄弟不肯尽兄弟的责任娶我，不肯为我丈夫留后。’

那 人 若 不 愿 意 娶 他 哥 哥 的 妻 ， 他 哥 哥 的 妻 就 要 到 城 门 长 老 那 里 ， 说 ： 我 丈 夫 的 兄 弟 不 肯 在 以 色 列 中 兴 起 他 哥 哥 的 名 字 ， 不 给 我 尽 弟 兄 的 本 分 。

如果死者的兄弟不願娶那寡婦，她要到城門口見長老們，告訴他們，『我丈夫的兄弟不肯盡兄弟的責任娶我，不肯為我丈夫留後。』
