Amos 6:2

Go over to Calneh [in Babylonia] and look,And from there go [north of Damascus] to the great city of Hamath;Then go down to Gath of the Philistines.Are they better than these kingdoms [of yours],Or is their territory greater than yours?

Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?

Go over to Calneh and look,And go from there to Hamath the great,Then go down to Gath of the Philistines.Are [a]they better than these kingdoms,Or is their territory greater than yours?

Go and look at the city of Kalneh. Go from there to the great city of Hamath. Then go down to Gath in Philistia.Are those places better off than your two kingdoms? Is their land larger than yours?

تَوَجَّهُوا إِلَى مَدِينَةِ كَلْنَةَ وَتَأَمَّلُوا، ثُمَّ انْتَقِلُوا إِلَى حَمَاةَ الْعَظِيمَةِ، وَمِنْهَا انْحَدِرُوا إِلَى جَتَّ مَدِينَةِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ. هَلْ هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْمَمَالِكِ أَمْ تُخُومُهُمْ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ تُخُومِكُمْ؟

Men tænk på, hvordan det er gået Kalno[a] og den tidligere storby Hamat. Og hvad med filisterbyen Gat? Når de blev lagt i ruiner, hvad så med jer? Er jeres byer og lande bedre end deres?

Ihr sagt zu den Leuten: »Geht doch einmal hinüber zur Stadt Kalne, dann weiter nach Hamat und von dort zur Philisterstadt Gat! Sind Israel und Juda nicht angesehener als sie? Ist unser Gebiet nicht größer als ihres?«[a]

Pasad a Calné y observadla; id de allí a Jamat la grande, bajad luego a Gat de los filisteos.¿Acaso sois vosotros superiores a estos reinos, o es más grande su territorio que el vuestro?

Rendez-vous à Kalné[a], |pour voir ce qui s’y est passé.Puis, de là, rendez-vous |à Hamath, la grande cité[b].Puis descendez à Gath[c], |la ville philistine.Constatez si ces villes |sont en meilleur état |que ces royaumes-ciou si leur territoire |est plus grand que le vôtre.
