Amos 3:12

Thus says the Lord,“Just as the shepherd snatches from the mouth of the lion a couple of legs or a piece of the [sheep’s] ear [to prove to the owner that he has not stolen the animal],So will the [remaining] children of Israel living in Samaria be snatched awayWith the corner of a bed and [part of] the damask covering of a couch.

Thus saith the Lord; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.

God’s Message:“In the same way that a shepherd trying to save a lamb from a lionManages to recover just a pair of legs or the scrap of an ear,So will little be saved of the Israelites who live in Samaria—A couple of old chairs at most, the broken leg of a table. 13-15 “Listen and bring witness against Jacob’s family”— this is God’s Word, God-of-the-Angel-Armies!“Note well! The day I make Israel pay for its sins, pay for the sin-altars of worship at Bethel,The horned altars will all be dehorned and scattered around.I’ll tear down the winter palace, smash the summer palace—all your fancy buildings.The luxury homes will be demolished, all those pretentious houses.” God’s Decree.

Thus says the Lord,“Just as the shepherd [m]snatches from the lion’s mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear,So will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be [n]snatched away—With the corner of a bed and the [o]cover of a couch!

The Lord says,“Suppose a shepherd saves only two leg bones from a lion’s mouth.Or he might save only a piece of an ear. That is how the Israelites living in Samaria will be saved.They will only have a board from a bedand a piece of cloth from a couch.”

This is what the Lord says:“As a shepherd rescues from the lion’s mouth only two leg bones or a piece of an ear,so will the Israelites living in Samaria be rescued, with only the head of a bed and a piece of fabric[a] from a couch.[b]”

هَذَا مَا يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ: كَمَا يَعْجَزُ الرَّاعِي أَنْ يَنْتَزِعَ مِنْ فَمِ الأَسَدِ سِوَى رِجْلَيْ حَمَلٍ، أَوْ قِطْعَةً مِنْ أُذُنٍ، هَكَذَا لَنْ يَنْجُوَ سِوَى الْقَلِيلِ مِنْ شَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي السَّامِرَةِ، الْمُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ الْوَثِيرَةِ وَالأَسِرَّةِ النَّاعِمَةِ.

Som når en hyrde kun redder et par skinneben eller et øre af sit får fra løvens gab, sådan vil kun få af Samarias indbyggere blive reddet, som man kan være heldig at redde et hjørne af sin seng eller et stykke af en divan.”[a]

Ja, ich versichere euch: Auf Rettung könnt ihr nicht hoffen. Hat ein Hirte etwa sein Schaf gerettet, wenn er gerade noch zwei Schenkelknochen oder einen Zipfel von seinem Ohr aus dem Rachen des Löwen zieht? Genauso wenig wird von euch Israeliten übrig bleiben, die ihr in Samaria auf euren Polstern sitzt und euch auf Betten mit feinen Damastbezügen räkelt!

主は言います。「羊飼いは羊をライオンから救い出そうとしたが、間に合わなかった。ライオンの口から、二本の足と耳の一部をもぎ取っただけだった。サマリヤのイスラエル人が最後に助け出されるときもそうなる。彼らに残っているのは、壊れかかった椅子とぼろぼろの枕だけだ。」

여호와께서 말씀하신다. “목자가 사자의 입에서 양의 두 다리나 귀 한쪽만 구해 내듯이 [a]호화로운 침대 생활을 하는 사마리아 사람들 가운데서도 소수의 사람들만 구출될 것이다.”

Så säger Herren: ”Som en herde räddar ur lejonets gap ett par benpipor eller en bit av ett öra, så ska israeliterna räddas, de som nu sitter i Samaria på sängkanten och i mjuka soffor.[b]
