Amos 1:3

Thus says the Lord,“For three transgressions of Damascus and for four (multiplied delinquencies)I shall not reverse its punishment or revoke My word concerning it,Because they have threshed Gilead [east of the Jordan River] with sharp iron sledges [having spikes that crushed and shredded].

Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

Thus says the Lord,“For three transgressions of Damascus and for fourI will not [c]revoke its punishment,Because they threshed Gilead with implements of sharp iron.

The Lord says,“The people of Damascus have sinned again and again. So I will judge them.They used threshing sleds with iron teeth to crush Gilead’s people.

This is what the Lord says:“For three sins of Damascus, even for four, I will not relent.Because she threshed Gilead with sledges having iron teeth,

This is what the Lord says:“The people of Damascus have sinned again and again,[b] and I will not let them go unpunished!They beat down my people in Gilead as grain is threshed with iron sledges.

هَذَا مَا يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ: مِنْ أَجْلِ مَعَاصِي دِمَشْقَ الثَّلاثِ وَالأَرْبَعِ لَنْ أَرُدَّ عَنْهَا سَخَطِي، لأَنَّ أَهْلَهَا قَدْ دَاسُوا شَعْبِي فِي جِلْعَادَ بِنَوَارِجَ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ.

Herren siger:„Damaskus har gjort oprør gang på gang, jeg vil ikke holde min straf tilbage.De knuste mit folk i Gilead som under en tærskeslæde med jernpigge.

So spricht der Herr: Die Leute von Damaskus begehen ein abscheuliches Verbrechen nach dem anderen. Sie haben die Bewohner von Gilead wie mit einem eisernen Dreschschlitten niedergewalzt und zermalmt. Das werde ich nicht ungestraft lassen!

L’Eternel dit ceci :Damas[e] a perpétré |de nombreux crimes ;il a dépassé les limites[f]. |Voilà pourquoi |je ne reviendrai pas |sur l’arrêt que j’ai pris,car ils ont écrasé |sous des herses de fer |les gens de Galaad[g].

Amo ini ang ginasiling sang Ginoo parte sa Syria: “Tungod sa sige-sige nga pagpakasala sang mga taga-Damascus,[b] pagasilutan ko gid sila. Kay ginpintasan nila ang mga taga-Gilead nga daw sa ginlinas sang tapi nga may mga ulounto nga salsalon sa idalom.

Så säger Herren: ”För Damaskus tre, ja, fyra överträdelsers skull kan jag inte låta bli att agera, eftersom de med trösksläden av järn har krossat Gilead.
