2 Kings 19:23

‘Through your messengers you have taunted and defied the Lord,And have said [boastfully], “With my many chariotsI came up to the heights of the mountains,To the remotest parts of Lebanon;I cut down its tall cedar trees and its choicest cypress trees.I entered its most distant lodging, its densest forest.

By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

You dispatched your errand boys to humiliate the Master. You bragged, “With my army of chariots I’ve climbed the highest mountains, snow-peaked alpine Lebanon mountains! I’ve cut down its giant cedars, chopped down its prize pine trees. I’ve traveled the world, visited the finest forest retreats.

Through your messengers you have dared to make fun of the Lord.And you have said, “I have many chariots.With them I have gone to the tops of the mountains. I’ve climbed the highest mountains in Lebanon.I’ve cut down its tallest cedar trees. I’ve cut down the best of its juniper trees.I’ve reached its farthest parts. I’ve reached its finest forests.

By your messengers you have ridiculed the Lord.And you have said, “With my many chariotsI have ascended the heights of the mountains, the utmost heights of Lebanon.I have cut down its tallest cedars, the choicest of its junipers.I have reached its remotest parts, the finest of its forests.

By your messengers you have ridiculed the Lord.And you have said, ‘With my many chariotsI have ascended the heights of the mountains, the utmost heights of Lebanon.I have cut down its tallest cedars, the choicest of its junipers.I have reached its remotest parts, the finest of its forests.

By your messengers you have defied the Lord. You have said, ‘With my many chariotsI have conquered the highest mountains— yes, the remotest peaks of Lebanon.I have cut down its tallest cedars and its finest cypress trees.I have reached its farthest corners and explored its deepest forests.

لَقَدْ عَيَّرْتَ السَّيِّدَ عَلَى لِسَانِ رُسُلِكَ، وَقُلْتَ: بِكَثْرَةِ مَرْكَبَاتِي قَدْ صَعِدْتُ إِلَى أَعَالِي الْجِبَالِ، وَبَلَغْتُ أَقَاصِي لُبْنَانَ قَاطِعاً أَطْوَلَ أَرْزِهِ وَخِيَارَ سَرْوِهِ وَاخْتَرَقْتُ أَبْعَدَ رُبُوعِهِ وأَفْضَلَ غَابَاتِهِ.

Ved sendebud hånede du Herren og sagde:‚Mine hære krydsede de højeste bjerge, jeg erobrede Libanons højdedrag.Jeg fældede skovens stolte cedre, nedlagde de statelige cypresser.Jeg nåede bjergenes tinder, Libanons prægtige frugtplantager.

Durch deine Boten hast du mich, den Herrn, verspottet. Du prahlst:›Mit meinen vielen Streitwagen habe ich die Berge bezwungen, bis zum höchsten Gipfel des Libanon bin ich vorgestoßen. Seine mächtigen Zedern habe ich gefällt und die schönsten Zypressen abgeholzt. Ich erreichte das entlegenste Versteck und drang in jedes Dickicht seiner Wälder vor.

Has enviado a tus mensajeros a insultar al Señor, diciendo:‘Con mis numerosos carros de combate escalé las cumbres de las montañas, ¡las laderas del Líbano!Talé sus cedros más altos, sus cipreses más selectos.Alcancé sus refugios más lejanos, y sus bosques más frondosos.

Has enviado a tus mensajeros a insultar al Señor, diciendo:‘Con mis numerosos carros de combate escalé las cumbres de las montañas, ¡las laderas del Líbano!Talé sus cedros más altos, sus cipreses más selectos.Alcancé sus refugios más lejanos, y sus bosques más frondosos.

Car par tes messagers |tu as insulté le Seigneur,et tu as dit :« Grâce à mes nombreux chars,moi j’ai gravi |les sommets des montagnes,j’ai pénétré |jusqu’au cœur du Liban ;pour y couper |les cèdres les plus hautset les plus beaux cyprèset parvenir |jusqu’au dernier sommetdans sa forêt la plus touffue.

U hebt Mij beledigd en bij monde van uw boodschappers gezegd: mijn strijdwagens hebben de hoogste bergen veroverd, zelfs de toppen van de Libanon. Ik heb de hoogste ceders en mooiste cipressen omgehakt en ben tot in de verste uithoeken van het woud en het open veld doorgedrongen.

Prin solii tăi L-ai batjocorit pe Domnul şi ai zis:‘Cu mulţimea carelor mele am urcat înălţimile munţilor până la cele mai înalte piscuri ale Libanului!I-am tăiat cei mai înalţi cedri şi cei mai aleşi chiparoşi.Am ajuns la cele mai îndepărtate locuri şi la pădurea cea mai deasă.
