2 Kings 13:19

So the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck down Aram until you had destroyed it. But now you shall strike Aram only three times.”

And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.

The Holy Man became angry with him: “Why didn’t you hit the ground five or six times? Then you would beat Aram until he was finished. As it is, you’ll defeat him three times only.” 20-21 Then Elisha died and they buried him.Some time later, raiding bands of Moabites, as they often did, invaded the country. One day, some men were burying a man and spotted the raiders. They threw the man into Elisha’s tomb and got away. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came alive, stood up, and walked out on his own two feet. 22-24 Hazael king of Aram badgered and bedeviled Israel all through the reign of Jehoahaz. But God was gracious and showed mercy to them. He stuck with them out of respect for his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He never gave up on them, never even considered discarding them, even to this day. Hazael king of Aram died. His son Ben-Hadad was the next king.

„Det var ærgerligt,” udbrød profeten. „Hvorfor slog du dem ikke mod gulvet fem eller seks gange? Havde du gjort det, kunne du have slået aramæerne definitivt. Men nu vil du kun besejre dem tre gange.”

Da wurde der Prophet zornig. »Fünf- oder sechsmal hättest du schlagen sollen«, tadelte er ihn, »dann hättest du die Syrer endgültig vernichtet! Jetzt aber wirst du sie nur dreimal besiegen.«

In die tijd gebeurde het nogal eens dat Moabitische bandieten in de lente invallen in Israël deden. Op een keer zagen enkele mannen die net een vriend aan het begraven waren, een bende bandieten naderen en in hun haast om weg te komen, gooiden zij het lijk in de graftombe van Elisa. Zodra het lijk in aanraking kwam met de beenderen van Elisa, kwam de dode man weer tot leven en sprong overeind!

Gudsmannen blev arg på honom och utbrast: ”Du skulle ha slagit fem eller sex gånger, för då skulle du ha slagit Aram fullständigt. Nu kommer du bara att slå dem tre gånger.”

上帝的仆人很生气，说：“你应该击打五六下，那样你就可以彻底消灭亚兰人。现在，你只能击败他们三次。”
