When the people of Ashdod got up early the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and returned him to his place.

And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

وَفِي صَبَاحِ الْيَوْمِ التَّالِي وَجَدَ أَهْلُ أَشْدُودَ صَنَمَ إِلَهِهِمْ دَاجُونَ مَطْرُوحاً عَلَى وَجْهِهِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ أَمَامَ تَابُوتِ الرَّبِّ، فَرَفَعُوهُ وَأَقَامُوهُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ.
