1 Samuel 18:25

Then Saul said, “This is what you shall say to David: ‘The king wants no dowry except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take vengeance on the king’s enemies.’” Now Saul’s intention was to cause [e]David’s death at the hand of the Philistines.

And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.

Saul then said, “Thus you shall say to David, ‘The king does not desire any dowry except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take vengeance on the king’s enemies.’” Now Saul planned to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.

Saul said, “Tell David, ‘Here’s the price the king wants for the bride. He wants you to kill 100 Philistines. Then bring back the skins you cut off when you circumcise them. That’s how Saul will get even with his enemies.’ ” Saul hoped that the Philistines would strike David down.

Saul replied, “Say to David, ‘The king wants no other price for the bride than a hundred Philistine foreskins, to take revenge on his enemies.’” Saul’s plan was to have David fall by the hands of the Philistines.

فَقَالَ شَاوُلُ لَهُمْ: «هَذَا مَا تَقُولُونَهُ لِدَاوُدَ: إِنَّ الْمَلِكَ لَا يَطْمَعُ فِي مَهْرٍ، بَلْ فِي مِئَةِ غُلْفَةٍ مِنْ غُلَفِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ، انْتِقَاماً مِنْ أَعْدَاءِ الْمَلِكِ». قَالَ هَذَا ظَنّاً مِنْهُ أَنْ يُوْقِعَ دَاوُدَ فِي أَسْرِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ.
