1 Samuel 13:19

Now no [g]blacksmith (metal-worker) could be found in all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, “Otherwise the Hebrews will make swords or spears.”

Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears:

There weren’t any blacksmiths in the whole land of Israel. That’s because the Philistines had said, “The Hebrews might hire them to make swords or spears!”

There were no blacksmiths in the land of Israel in those days. The Philistines wouldn’t allow them for fear they would make swords and spears for the Hebrews.

وَلَمْ يَسْمَحِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ فِي تِلْكَ الأَيَّامِ بِوُجُودِ حَدَّادِينَ فِي كُلِّ أَرْضِ إِسْرَائِيلَ لِئَلّا يَصْنَعَ الْعِبْرَانِيُّونَ سُيُوفاً وَرِمَاحاً.

På den tid fandtes der ikke en eneste smed i hele Israel, for filistrene ville forhindre hebræerne i at ruste sig med sværd og spyd.

Damals gab es im ganzen Land Israel keinen einzigen Schmied. Die Philister wollten nämlich verhindern, dass sich die Israeliten Schwerter und Speere herstellten.

그 당시에는 이스라엘 땅에 철공이 하나도 없었다. 블레셋 사람들은 히브리 사람들이 칼이나 창을 만들어 가지는 것을 두렵게 여겨 히브리 사람들에게는 그런 것을 만들지 못하게 했기 때문이었다.

På den här tiden fanns det inga smeder i Israels land, eftersom filistéerna ville hindra hebréerna från att smida svärd och spjut.
