1 Corinthians 8:10

For if someone sees you, a person having [c]knowledge, [d]eating in an idol’s temple, then if he is weak, will he not be encouraged to eat things sacrificed to idols [and violate his own convictions]?

For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

For instance, say you flaunt your freedom by going to a banquet thrown in honor of idols, where the main course is meat sacrificed to idols. Isn’t there great danger if someone still struggling over this issue, someone who looks up to you as knowledgeable and mature, sees you go into that banquet? The danger is that he will become terribly confused—maybe even to the point of getting mixed up himself in what his conscience tells him is wrong. 11-13 Christ gave up his life for that person. Wouldn’t you at least be willing to give up going to dinner for him—because, as you say, it doesn’t really make any difference? But it does make a difference if you hurt your friend terribly, risking his eternal ruin! When you hurt your friend, you hurt Christ. A free meal here and there isn’t worth it at the cost of even one of these “weak ones.” So, never go to these idol-tainted meals if there’s any chance it will trip up one of your brothers or sisters.

Porque puede suceder que alguno de vosotros, sabiendo que no hace nada malo, entre a comer en un templo donde hay ídolos, y que después llegue un hermano débil de conciencia, que, al verle comiendo, decida (aun pensando que va a hacer algo malo) comer él también de lo sacrificado a los ídolos.

Suppose you, with all your knowledge, are eating in a temple of one of those gods. And suppose someone who has a weak sense of what is right and wrong sees you. Won’t that person become bold and eat what is sacrificed to statues of gods?

Když tě totiž někdo vidí dělat něco, co sám pokládá za nesprávné, může být tvým příkladem sveden dělat totéž – proti hlasu svého vlastního svědomí!

Jer tko smatra da je grijeh jesti tu hranu, može te vidjeti kako jedeš u idolskome hramu. Ti znaš da u tome nema ničega lošega, ali on će jedući meso žrtvovano idolima naučiti da kalja svoju savjest čineći ono što smatra grijehom.

Căci dacă cineva te vede pe tine, care ai cunoaștere, că mănânci în templul unui idol, oare conştiinţa lui slabă nu-l va încuraja să mănânce ceea ce este jertfit idolilor?

如果有人看见你这明白以上道理的人竟然坐在偶像的庙中吃喝，他虽然良心不安，岂不还是会放胆吃献给偶像的祭物吗？

若 有 人 见 你 这 有 知 识 的 ， 在 偶 像 的 庙 里 坐 席 ， 这 人 的 良 心 ， 若 是 软 弱 ， 岂 不 放 胆 去 吃 那 祭 偶 像 之 物 麽 ？

如果有人看見你這明白以上道理的人竟然坐在偶像的廟中吃喝，他雖然良心不安，豈不還是會放膽吃獻給偶像的祭物嗎？
