To Shuppim and Hosah [the lot fell] for the west [gates], by the gate of Shallecheth, on the ascending highway, division by division.

To Shuppim and Hosah the lot came forth westward, with the gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.

For Shuppim and Hosah it was to the west, by the gate of Shallecheth, on the ascending highway. Guard corresponded to guard.

Lots were chosen for the West Gate and the Shalleketh Gate on the upper road. Those lots were chosen for Shuppim and Hosah. One guard stood next to another.

Shuppim and Hosah were assigned the west gate and the gateway leading up to the Temple.[c] Guard duties were divided evenly.

وَأَصَابَتِ الْقُرْعَةُ شُفِّيمَ وَحُوسَةَ لِحِرَاسَةِ الْبَابِ الْغَرْبِيِّ مَعَ بَابِ شَلَّكَةَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ الصَّاعِدِ إِلَى أَعْلَى، فَكَانَ مَحْرَسٌ مُقَابِلَ مَحْرَسٍ.
