1 Chronicles 21:12

either three years of famine, or three months to be swept away before your enemies, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you, or else three days of the sword of the Lord and plague in the land, and the angel of the Lord bringing destruction throughout all the territory of Israel.’ Now therefore, consider what answer I shall return to Him who sent me.”

They will destroy you with their swords. Or you can have three days when the sword of the Lord will punish you. That means there would be three days of plague in the land. My angel would strike down people in every part of Israel.’ So take your pick. Tell me how to answer the one who sent me.”

إِمَّا ثَلاثَ سِنِينَ مَجَاعَةٌ، أَوْ ثَلاثَةَ أَشْهُرٍ يُطَارِدُكَ فِيهَا أَعْدَاؤُكَ، وَسَيْفُ أَعْدَائِكَ يُدْرِكُكَ وَإِمَّا ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ يَتَسَلَّطُ فِيهَا عَلَيْكَ سَيْفُ الرَّبِّ فَيَتَفَشَّى الْوَبَأُ فِي الأَرْضِ، إِذْ يَجُولُ مَلاكُ الرَّبِّ يُدَمِّرُ فِي جَمِيعِ أَرْجَاءِ إِسْرَائِيلَ. فَكِّرْ مَلِيًّا فيِ الأَمْرِ لأَرُدَّ جَوَاباً عَلَى مَنْ أَرْسَلَنِي».

„Vælger du tre år med hungersnød? Eller tre måneder på flugt for dine fjender? Eller tre dage, hvor Herrens engel sender pest over hele Israels land? Sig mig, hvad jeg skal svare Herren, som har sendt mig!”

Drei Jahre Hungersnot? Oder drei Monate, in denen du von deinen Feinden verfolgt und schließlich besiegt wirst? Oder wählst du drei Tage, in denen der Herr das Land bestraft? Dann wütet die Pest in Israel, und der Engel des Herrn bringt Elend über das ganze Land. Überleg dir, was ich dem antworten soll, der mich zu dir geschickt hat!«
