Verse 1

So Israel set out with all that was his, and when he reached Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

ดังนั้นอิสราเอลจึงออกเดินทางพร้อมด้วยทรัพย์สมบัติทั้งหมด เมื่อมาถึงเมืองเบเออร์เชบาเขาก็ถวายเครื่องบูชาแด่พระเจ้าของอิสอัคบิดาของเขา

Verse 2

And God spoke to Israel in a vision at night and said, “Jacob! Jacob!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

ในตอนกลางคืนพระเจ้าตรัสกับเขาทางนิมิตว่า “ยาโคบ! ยาโคบเอ๋ย!”

ยาโคบทูลว่า “ข้าพระองค์อยู่ที่นี่”

Verse 3

“I am God, the God of your father,” he said. “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.

พระองค์ตรัสว่า “เราคือพระเจ้า พระเจ้าของบิดาเจ้า อย่ากลัวที่จะต้องลงไปอียิปต์ เพราะเราจะให้เจ้าเป็นชนชาติใหญ่ที่นั่น

Verse 4

I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph’s own hand will close your eyes.”

เราจะลงไปอียิปต์กับเจ้า และเราจะนำเจ้ากลับมาอีกอย่างแน่นอน และเมื่อเจ้าตาย โยเซฟจะเป็นผู้ปิดตาเจ้า”

Verse 5

Then Jacob left Beersheba, and Israel’s sons took their father Jacob and their children and their wives in the carts that Pharaoh had sent to transport him.

Verse 6

So Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt, taking with them their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in Canaan.

Verse 7

Jacob brought with him to Egypt his sons and grandsons and his daughters and granddaughters—all his offspring.

ยาโคบพาลูกหลานทั้งหมดของเขามายังอียิปต์ คือบุตรชายบุตรสาวและหลานชายหลานสาว

Verse 8

These are the names of the sons of Israel (Jacob and his descendants) who went to Egypt:

Reuben the firstborn of Jacob.

ต่อไปนี้เป็นรายชื่อบุตรชายของอิสราเอล (ยาโคบและพงศ์พันธุ์ของเขา) ผู้ไปอียิปต์ ได้แก่

Verse 9

The sons of Reuben:

Hanok, Pallu, Hezron and Karmi.

Verse 10

The sons of Simeon:

Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.

เยมูเอล ยามีน โอหาด ยาคีน โศหาร์ และชาอูลบุตรชายที่เกิดจากหญิงชาวคานาอัน

Verse 11

The sons of Levi:

Gershon, Kohath and Merari.

Verse 12

The sons of Judah:

Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez and Zerah (but Er and Onan had died in the land of Canaan).

The sons of Perez:

Hezron and Hamul.

Verse 13

The sons of Issachar:

Tola, Puah,^[a] Jashub^[b] and Shimron.

The sons of Zebulun:

Sered, Elon and Jahleel.

Verse 15

These were the sons Leah bore to Jacob in Paddan Aram,^[c] besides his daughter Dinah. These sons and daughters of his were thirty-three in all.

Verse 16

The sons of Gad:

Zephon,^[d] Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi and Areli.

บุตรของกาดได้แก่

เซโฟน^[c] ฮักกี ชูนี เอสโบน เอรี อาโรดี และอาเรลี

Verse 17

The sons of Asher:

Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi and Beriah.

Their sister was Serah.

The sons of Beriah:

Heber and Malkiel.

บุตรของอาเชอร์ได้แก่

อิมนาห์ อิชวาห์ อิชวี และเบรีอาห์ กับเสราห์น้องสาวของพวกเขา

Verse 18

These were the children born to Jacob by Zilpah, whom Laban had given to his daughter Leah—sixteen in all.

Verse 19

The sons of Jacob’s wife Rachel:

Joseph and Benjamin.

Verse 20

In Egypt, Manasseh and Ephraim were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.^[e]

โยเซฟมีบุตรชายในอียิปต์สองคนคือ มนัสเสห์และเอฟราอิม ทั้งคู่เกิดจากนางอาเสนัทบุตรสาวของโปทิเฟราปุโรหิตแห่งเมืองโอน

Verse 21

The sons of Benjamin:

Bela, Beker, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim and Ard.

บุตรชายของเบนยามิน ได้แก่

เบลา เบเคอร์ อัชเบล เกรา นาอามาน เอไฮ โรช มัปปิม หุปปิม และอาร์ด

Verse 22

These were the sons of Rachel who were born to Jacob—fourteen in all.

คนเหล่านี้เป็นบุตรชายของนางราเชลซึ่งให้กำเนิดแก่ยาโคบ รวมทั้งสิ้น 14 คน

Verse 23

The son of Dan:

Hushim.

บุตรของดาน ได้แก่

Verse 24

The sons of Naphtali:

Jahziel, Guni, Jezer and Shillem.

Verse 25

These were the sons born to Jacob by Bilhah, whom Laban had given to his daughter Rachel—seven in all.

คนเหล่านี้คือลูกหลานของยาโคบทางสายนางบิลฮาห์ซึ่งลาบันยกให้แก่ราเชลบุตรีรวมทั้งสิ้น 7 คน

Verse 26

All those who went to Egypt with Jacob—those who were his direct descendants, not counting his sons’ wives—numbered sixty-six persons.

รวมจำนวนคนที่ไปอียิปต์พร้อมกับยาโคบเฉพาะเลือดเนื้อเชื้อไขแท้ๆ ของเขา ไม่รวมบุตรสะใภ้นับได้ 66 คน

Verse 27

With the two sons^[f] who had been born to Joseph in Egypt, the members of Jacob’s family, which went to Egypt, were seventy^[g] in all.

นับบุตรชายของโยเซฟอีก 2 คน^[d]ที่อียิปต์ รวมคนในครอบครัวยาโคบที่ไปอียิปต์มี 70 คน^[e]

Verse 28

Now Jacob sent Judah ahead of him to Joseph to get directions to Goshen. When they arrived in the region of Goshen,

ยาโคบส่งยูดาห์ล่วงหน้าไปหาโยเซฟเพื่อถามทางไปยังโกเชน เมื่อพวกเขามาถึงดินแดนโกเชน

Verse 29

Joseph had his chariot made ready and went to Goshen to meet his father Israel. As soon as Joseph appeared before him, he threw his arms around his father^[h] and wept for a long time.

Verse 30

Israel said to Joseph, “Now I am ready to die, since I have seen for myself that you are still alive.”

อิสราเอลพูดกับโยเซฟว่า “บัดนี้ถ้าเราจะตาย เราก็ตายตาหลับ เพราะเราได้เห็นกับตาว่าเจ้ายังมีชีวิตอยู่”

Verse 31

Then Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, “I will go up and speak to Pharaoh and will say to him, ‘My brothers and my father’s household, who were living in the land of Canaan, have come to me.

โยเซฟจึงบอกพวกพี่น้องและคนในครัวเรือนของบิดาว่า “เราจะขึ้นไปทูลฟาโรห์ว่า ‘บรรดาพี่น้องและคนในครัวเรือนของบิดาของข้าพระบาทที่อาศัยอยู่ในคานาอันได้มาหาข้าพระบาท

Verse 32

The men are shepherds; they tend livestock, and they have brought along their flocks and herds and everything they own.’

พวกเขาเป็นคนเลี้ยงแกะ พวกเขาเฝ้าดูแลฝูงสัตว์ และได้นำฝูงแพะแกะ ฝูงสัตว์ และข้าวของทุกอย่างมาด้วย’

Verse 33

When Pharaoh calls you in and asks, ‘What is your occupation?’

เมื่อฟาโรห์ทรงเรียกพวกท่านเข้าเฝ้าและรับสั่งถามว่า ‘พวกเจ้ามีอาชีพอะไร?’

Verse 34

you should answer, ‘Your servants have tended livestock from our boyhood on, just as our fathers did.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the region of Goshen, for all shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians.”

พวกท่านควรตอบว่า ‘ผู้รับใช้ของฝ่าพระบาทเลี้ยงดูฝูงสัตว์มาตั้งแต่เด็กๆ ตามอย่างบรรพบุรุษของเรา’ แล้วพวกท่านจะได้รับอนุญาตให้อาศัยอยู่ในดินแดนโกเชนนี้ เพราะชาวอียิปต์รังเกียจคนเลี้ยงแกะ”
