Judges 10

After the time of Abimelek, a man of Issachar named Tola son of Puah, the son of Dodo, rose to save Israel. He lived in Shamir, in the hill country of Ephraim.

Anuanom, nea me koma pere hwehwɛ yɛ me mpae a mebɔ srɛ Onyankopɔn ma Israelfo sɛ wobenya nkwagye.

He led^[a] Israel twenty-three years; then he died, and was buried in Shamir.

Jair

Metumi madi wɔn ho adanse sɛ wɔyɛ nnipa a wɔde mmɔdenbɔ som Onyankopɔn sɛnea ɛsɛ. Nanso wɔn som no mfi nimdeɛ mu.

He was followed by Jair of Gilead, who led Israel twenty-two years.

Wɔammu trenee a efi Onyankopɔn no na mmom wɔpɛe sɛ wɔfa wɔn ankasa nimdeɛ so. Eyi amma wɔamfa wɔn ho anhyɛ Onyankopɔn pɛ a ɔnam so ma onipa wie pɛyɛ no ase.

He had thirty sons, who rode thirty donkeys. They controlled thirty towns in Gilead, which to this day are called Havvoth Jair.^[b]

Kristo abesi mmara no ananmu na obiara a ogye no di no dan ɔtreneeni.

When Jair died, he was buried in Kamon.

Jephthah

Asɛm a Mose ka faa mmara no ho se, sɛ obi di so a, ɔbɛdan ɔtreneeni no ni: “Obiara a odi me mmara so no benya nkwa.”

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord. They served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, and the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites and the gods of the Philistines. And because the Israelites forsook the Lord and no longer served him,

Mmisa wo ho se hena na ɔbɛkɔ soro? Ɛkyerɛ sɛ ɔbɛma Kristo asian.

he became angry with them. He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and the Ammonites,

Nka nso se hena na obesian akɔ asaman? Ɛkyerɛ sɛ wobenyan Kristo afi asaman.”

who that year shattered and crushed them. For eighteen years they oppressed all the Israelites on the east side of the Jordan in Gilead, the land of the Amorites.

Nea Kyerɛwsɛm no ka ni, “Onyankopɔn asɛm no abɛn wo, ɛda w’ano na ɛwɔ wo koma mu.” Eyi ne asɛm a ɛfa gyidi ho a yɛka no.

The Ammonites also crossed the Jordan to fight against Judah, Benjamin and Ephraim; Israel was in great distress.

Sɛ wopae mu ka se, “Yesu ne Awurade”, na wugye di sɛ Onyankopɔn na onyanee no fii awufo mu a, wobegye wo nkwa.

Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord, “We have sinned against you, forsaking our God and serving the Baals.”

Na yɛnam koma so gye di na wɔabu yɛn bem wɔ Onyankopɔn anim, na yɛde yɛn ano pae mu ka na yɛanya nkwagye.

The Lord replied, “When the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,

Na Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Obiara a ogye no di no anim rengu ase.”

the Sidonians, the Amalekites and the Maonites^[c] oppressed you and you cried to me for help, did I not save you from their hands?

Saa asɛm yi fa obiara ho, efisɛ, nsonsonoe biara nni Yudani ne Amanamanmuni ntam. Onyankopɔn yɛ Awurade koro ma nnipa nyinaa na ohyira wɔn a wɔfrɛ no nyinaa,

But you have forsaken me and served other gods, so I will no longer save you.

sɛnea Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Obiara a ɔbɔ Awurade din no, wobegye no nkwa” no.

Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them save you when you are in trouble!”

Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na wubetumi afrɛ obi a wunnye no nni? Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn nso na wubegye obi a wontee ne ho asɛm adi? Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na sɛ obi nkaa Asɛmpa no nkyerɛɛ wɔn a, wɔbɛte?

But the Israelites said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.”

Na sɛ wɔansoma wɔn nso a, wɔbɛyɛ dɛn na wɔaka Asɛmpa no? Sɛnea wɔakyerɛw se, “Asɛmpakafo no ba a wɔreba no yɛ anigyesɛm.”

Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the Lord. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer.

Nanso ɛnyɛ wɔn nyinaa na wɔagye Asɛmpa no adi, sɛnea Yesaia kae se, “Awurade, hena na wagye yɛn asɛnka adi?”

When the Ammonites were called to arms and camped in Gilead, the Israelites assembled and camped at Mizpah.

Ɛnne na gyidi no fi asɛnka no tie mu, ɛnna asɛnka no nso nam Kristo ho asɛnka no so ba.

The leaders of the people of Gilead said to each other, “Whoever will take the lead in attacking the Ammonites will be head over all who live in Gilead.”

Nanso mibisa se, ɛyɛ nokware sɛ wɔante asɛnka no? Nokwarem, wɔtee, sɛnea Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Wɔn nne duu wiase mmaa nyinaa, na afei wɔn nsɛm duu asase ano.”

Mibisa bio se, na Israelfo nnim anaa? Mose ankasa na odii kan maa ho mmuae se, “Mɛma moatwe wɔn a wɔnyɛ ɔman mpo no ho ninkunu. Mɛma mo bo afuw ɔman a wonni ntease.”

Na Yesaia si ne bo ka se, “Wɔn a na wɔnhwehwɛ me no huu me. Medaa me ho adi wɔ wɔn a na wommisaa m’ase no anim.”

Na nea ɔka faa Israelfo ho ne sɛ, “Daa nyinaa meteɛ me nsa ma nnipa asoɔdenfo a wɔsɔre tia me.”
