Hosea 13

When Ephraim spoke, people trembled;
    he was exalted in Israel.
    But he became guilty of Baal worship and died.

Afei mihui sɛ aboa bi apue ɛpo no mu reba. Na ɔwɔ mmɛn du ne ti ason a, na ahenkyɛw hyehyɛ mmɛn no biara so a, nsɛmmɔne din bobɔ ti no ho.

Now they sin more and more;
    they make idols for themselves from their silver,
cleverly fashioned images,
    all of them the work of craftsmen.
It is said of these people,
    “They offer human sacrifices!
    They kiss^[a] calf-idols!”

Aboa a mihuu no no, na ɔte sɛ ɔsebɔ a ne nan te sɛ sisi, na n’ano nso te sɛ gyata. Ɔwɔ no de ɔno ankasa ne tumi ne n’ahengua ne ne tumi nyinaa maa aboa no.

Therefore they will be like the morning mist,
    like the early dew that disappears,
    like chaff swirling from a threshing floor,
    like smoke escaping through a window.

Mihui sɛ wɔapira ne ti no baako a ayɛ sɛ wɔrentumi nkum kuru no, nanso na kuru no awu. Aboa no ho yɛɛ wiasefo nyinaa nwonwa, enti wotu dii n’akyi.

“But I have been the Lord your God
    ever since you came out of Egypt.
You shall acknowledge no God but me,
    no Savior except me.

I cared for you in the wilderness,

When I fed them, they were satisfied;
    when they were satisfied, they became proud;
    then they forgot me.

Ofitii ase domee Onyankopɔn, ne din, baabi a ɔte ne wɔn a wɔte soro nyinaa.

So I will be like a lion to them,
    like a leopard I will lurk by the path.

Wɔmaa no kwan ma ɔne Onyankopɔn nkurɔfo koe sɛ obedi wɔn so. Na wɔmaa no mmusuakuw ne nkurɔfo ne kasa horow ne aman nyinaa so tumi.

Like a bear robbed of her cubs,
    I will attack them and rip them open;
like a lion I will devour them—
    a wild animal will tear them apart.

Nnipa a wɔte asase so nyinaa bɛsom no a, ase kyerɛ sɛ, obiara a wankyerɛw ne din ansa na wɔrebɔ wiase anhyɛ ateasefo nhoma a ɛwɔ Oguammaa a wokum no no mu no.

“You are destroyed, Israel,
    because you are against me, against your helper.

“Tie, wo a wowɔ aso, betie.

Where is your king, that he may save you?
    Where are your rulers in all your towns,
of whom you said,
    ‘Give me a king and princes’?

Obiara a ɛsɛ sɛ wɔkyere no no, wɔbɛkyere no. Obiara a ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no nkrante ano no, wobekum no. Eyi mu boasetɔ ne gyidi ho hia Onyankopɔn nkurɔfo.”

So in my anger I gave you a king,
    and in my wrath I took him away.

Afei mihuu aboa foforo a ɔrepue afi asase mu. Na ɔwɔ mmɛn abien te sɛ oguammaa, nanso na ɔkasa te sɛ ɔwɔ.

The guilt of Ephraim is stored up,
    his sins are kept on record.

Osi n’ananmu di tumi te sɛ aboa a odi kan no pɛ na ɔma asase ne ɛso nnipa som aboa a odi kan no a n’apirakuru no awu no.

Pains as of a woman in childbirth come to him,
    but he is a child without wisdom;
when the time arrives,
    he doesn’t have the sense to come out of the womb.

“I will deliver this people from the power of the grave;
    I will redeem them from death.
Where, O death, are your plagues?
    Where, O grave, is your destruction?

Na ɔnam anwonwade a wɔmaa no ho kwan yɛe wɔ aboa a odi kan no anim no so daadaa nnipa a wɔte asase so nyinaa. Aboa no ka kyerɛɛ wiase nnipa nyinaa se, wonsi ohoni mfa nhyɛ aboa a wɔde nkrante piraa no nanso n’apirakuru no awu na ɔte ase no anuonyam.

    even though he thrives among his brothers.
An east wind from the Lord will come,
    blowing in from the desert;
his spring will fail
    and his well dry up.
His storehouse will be plundered
    of all its treasures.

Wɔmaa aboa a ɔto so abien no kwan ma ɔhomee nkwa guu aboa a odi kan ohoni no mu, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a ohoni no betumi akasa, na wakum obiara a ɔnsom no no.

The people of Samaria must bear their guilt,
    because they have rebelled against their God.
They will fall by the sword;
    their little ones will be dashed to the ground,
    their pregnant women ripped open.”^[b]
