I am a rose^[b] of Sharon,
    a lily of the valleys.

Like a lily among thorns
    is my darling among the young women.

(남자) 내가 사랑하는 님을 다른 여자와 비교해 보니 가시나무 가운데 있는 백합화 같구나.

I delight to sit in his shade,

(여자) 내가 사랑하는 사람을 다른 남자와 비교해 보니 숲속의 사과나무 같구나. 내가 그의 그늘에 앉아서 기뻐하며 그의 열매를 맛있게 먹는구나.

Let him lead me to the banquet hall,
    and let his banner over me be love.

그가 나를 데리고 연회장으로 들어가서 나에게 사랑의 기를 치켜올렸네.

Strengthen me with raisins,
    refresh me with apples,
    for I am faint with love.

건포도로 내 힘을 회복시키고 사과로 나를 시원하게 해 다오. 내가 사랑 때문에 병이 들었단다.

꽃이 피고 새가 노래하는 때가 되어 비둘기 소리가 들리고 있소.

무화과가 맺히기 시작하고 포도나무가 꽃이 피어 향기를 날립니다. 나의 사랑, 나의 님이여, 일어나 함께 갑시다.

바위 틈에 숨은 비둘기 같은 님이여, 그대의 사랑스런 얼굴을 보이고 그대의 아름다운 목소리를 들려 주오.
