Verse 1

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

Песнь Давуда, когда он притворялся безумным перед Ави-Маликом, был изгнан от него и удалился.^[a]

Verse 2

Praise the Lord with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.

Буду славить Вечного во всякое время;
хвала Ему всегда на устах моих.

Verse 3

Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Душа моя будет хвалиться Вечным;
пусть услышат кроткие и возвеселятся.

Verse 4

For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.

Славьте со мною Вечного;
превознесём Его имя вместе!

Verse 5

The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Я искал Вечного, и Он мне ответил
и от всех моих страхов меня избавил.

Verse 6

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

Кто обращал к Нему взор, сияет от радости;
лица их не покроет стыд.

Verse 7

He gathers the waters of the sea into jars^[a];
he puts the deep into storehouses.

Этот бедняк воззвал, и Вечный услышал его
и от всех напастей избавил его.

Verse 8

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the people of the world revere him.

Ангел Вечного^[b] встаёт на защиту вокруг боящихся Вечного,
и избавляет их.

Verse 9

For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.

Вкусите и увидите, как благ Вечный!
Благословен тот, кто уповает на Него.

Verse 10

The Lord foils the plans of the nations;
he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.

Святой народ, бойся Вечного,
ведь тот, кто боится Его, ни в чём не нуждается.

Verse 11

But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.

Бывает, что даже молодые львы бедствуют и голодают,
а ищущие Вечного не имеют нужды ни в каком благе.

Verse 12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance.

Придите, дети, послушайте меня;
я научу вас страху перед Вечным.

Verse 13

From heaven the Lord looks down
and sees all mankind;

Кто хочет радоваться жизни
и желает увидеть много добрых дней,

Verse 14

from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth—

пусть удержит свой язык от зла
и свои уста от коварных речей.

Verse 15

he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.

Удаляйся от зла и твори добро;
ищи мира и стремись к нему.

Verse 16

No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength.

Глаза Вечного обращены на праведных,
и уши Его открыты для их мольбы,

Verse 17

A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.

но гнев Вечного на тех, кто делает зло,
чтобы истребить память о них на земле.

Verse 18

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,

Взывают праведные, и Вечный их слышит
и от всех скорбей их избавляет.

Verse 19

to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.

Близок Вечный к сокрушённым сердцем,
Он спасает смиренных духом.

Verse 20

We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.

Много скорбей у праведного,
но от всех их избавляет его Вечный.

Verse 21

In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.

Он все его кости хранит,
ни одна из них не будет переломлена.^[c]

Verse 22

May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you.

Зло погубит нечестивого;
ненавидящие праведного будут осуждены.

Verse 23

Вечный спасает жизнь Своих рабов,
и никто из надеющихся на Него не будет осуждён.
