Matthew 2

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi^[a] from the east came to Jerusalem

Иса родился в иудейском городе Вифлееме во времена правления царя Ирода^[a]. После рождения Исы в Иерусалим пришли мудрецы с востока^[b].

Они спрашивали людей:

and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

– Где новорождённый Царь иудеев? Мы видели Его звезду на востоке^[c] и пришли поклониться Ему.

When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.

Услышав об этом, царь Ирод встревожился, а с ним и весь Иерусалим.

When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.

Царь созвал к себе всех главных священнослужителей и учителей Таурата и спросил их, где должен родиться обещанный Масих.

“In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:

Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.

Тогда Ирод тайно пригласил к себе мудрецов и узнал у них точное время появления звезды.

He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”

Он послал их в Вифлеем с наказом:

– Идите и тщательно всё разузнайте о младенце. Когда вы Его найдёте, известите и меня, чтобы я смог пойти и поклониться Ему.

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.

Выслушав наказ царя, мудрецы отправились в путь. Звезда, которую они видели на востоке,^[e] шла впереди них, пока наконец не остановилась над местом, где был младенец.

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.

Увидев звезду, мудрецы очень сильно обрадовались.

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Когда они вошли в дом и увидели младенца и Его мать Марьям, они, павши, поклонились Ему и, открыв свои сокровища, поднесли Ему подарки: золото, ладан^[f] и смирну^[g].

And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

The Escape to Egypt

Ночью во сне они были предупреждены о том, что им нельзя возвращаться к Ироду, и вернулись в свою страну другим путём.

Бегство в Египет

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

Когда мудрецы ушли, Юсуфу во сне явился ангел от Вечного и сказал:

– Вставай, возьми младенца и Его мать и беги с ними в Египет. Оставайтесь там, пока я не скажу, потому что Ирод собирается найти младенца и убить Его.

So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,

Юсуф взял младенца с Его матерью, и ночью они ушли в Египет.

where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”^[c]

Там они оставались до тех пор, пока Ирод не умер. Так исполнились слова, которые Вечный сказал (об Исраиле) через пророка: «Из Египта призвал Я Сына Моего»^[h].

When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.

Когда Ирод понял, что мудрецы его обманули, он пришёл в ярость и приказал убить в Вифлееме и его окрестностях всех мальчиков в возрасте до двух лет. Время рождения ребёнка он определил со слов мудрецов.

Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:

Возвращение в Назарет

After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt

После смерти Ирода Юсуфу в Египте явился во сне ангел от Вечного.

and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”

– Вставай, – сказал он, – возьми младенца и Его мать и возвращайтесь в Исраил. Тех, кто хотел убить мальчика, уже нет в живых.

So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.

Юсуф взял младенца и Его мать, и они отправились в землю Исраила.

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,

Когда Юсуф узнал, что в Иудее вместо Ирода царствует его сын Архелай, он побоялся возвращаться, но, получив во сне ещё одно указание, пошёл в Галилею

and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.

и поселился там в городе Назарете. Так исполнились слова пророков, что Масиха будут называть назарянином.^[j]
