Jeremiah 27

Early in the reign of Zedekiah^[a] son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

В начале правления иудейского царя Цедекии, сына Иосии,^[a] к Иеремии было такое слово от Вечного.

This is what the Lord said to me: “Make a yoke out of straps and crossbars and put it on your neck.

Так мне сказал Вечный:

– Сделай из ремней и палок ярмо и надень его на шею.

Then send word to the kings of Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyre and Sidon through the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

И пошли весть царям Эдома, Моава, Аммона, Тира и Сидона через послов, которые прибыли в Иерусалим к Цедекии, царю Иудеи.

Give them a message for their masters and say, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Tell this to your masters:

Вели им передать известие своим господам, накажи им: Так говорит Вечный, Повелитель Сил, Бог Исраила: «Скажите своим господам вот что:

With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please.

Своей великой силой и простёртой рукой Я создал землю, людей и животных на земле, и Я даю это кому пожелаю.

Now I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to him.

Ныне Я отдам все ваши земли Моему рабу Навуходоносору, царю Вавилона; Я покорю ему даже диких зверей.

All nations will serve him and his son and his grandson until the time for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate him.

Все народы будут служить ему, и его сыну, и его внуку, пока не пробьёт час этой страны. Ему покорятся многочисленные народы и великие цари.

“‘“If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand.

А если какой-нибудь народ или царство не станет служить Навуходоносору, царю Вавилона, и не пригнёт свою шею под его ярмо, Я буду наказывать этот народ мечом, голодом и мором, – возвещает Вечный, – пока не погублю их его рукой.

So do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums or your sorcerers who tell you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’

Поэтому не слушайте ваших лжепророков, ворожей, толкователей снов, вызывателей умерших и чародеев, которые говорят вам: „Вы не будете служить царю Вавилона“.

They prophesy lies to you that will only serve to remove you far from your lands; I will banish you and you will perish.

Они пророчествуют вам ложь, которая удалит вас от ваших земель; Я изгоню вас, и вы погибнете.

But if any nation will bow its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will let that nation remain in its own land to till it and to live there, declares the Lord.”’”

А если какой-нибудь народ пригнёт шею под ярмо царя Вавилона и будет ему служить, Я оставлю этот народ на его земле, чтобы он возделывал её и жил на ней», – возвещает Вечный.

I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said, “Bow your neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and you will live.

Я говорил то же самое Цедекии, царю Иудеи:

– Пригни шею под ярмо царя Вавилона; служи ему и его народу, и будешь жить.

Why will you and your people die by the sword, famine and plague with which the Lord has threatened any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

Зачем тебе и твоему народу гибнуть от меча, голода и мора, которыми Вечный грозит каждому народу, что не станет служить царю Вавилона?

Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying lies to you.

Не слушай слов лжепророков, говорящих тебе: «Вы не будете служить царю Вавилона», так как они пророчествуют тебе ложь.

‘I have not sent them,’ declares the Lord. ‘They are prophesying lies in my name. Therefore, I will banish you and you will perish, both you and the prophets who prophesy to you.’”

«Я не посылал их, – возвещает Вечный. – Они пророчествуют Моим именем ложь, чтобы Я изгнал вас, и вы погибли – и вы, и пророки, которые вам пророчествуют».

Then I said to the priests and all these people, “This is what the Lord says: Do not listen to the prophets who say, ‘Very soon now the articles from the Lord’s house will be brought back from Babylon.’ They are prophesying lies to you.

Затем я обратился к священнослужителям и всему народу:

– Так говорит Вечный: «Не слушайте пророков, которые говорят: „Скоро утварь дома Вечного принесут из Вавилона обратно“^[b]. Они пророчествуют вам ложь.

Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and you will live. Why should this city become a ruin?

Не слушайте их. Служите царю Вавилона и будете жить. Зачем этому городу превращаться в развалины?

If they are prophets and have the word of the Lord, let them plead with the Lord Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the Lord and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon.

Если они пророки, и у них слово Вечного, то пусть лучше попросят Вечного, Повелителя Сил, чтобы та утварь, которая ещё осталась в доме Вечного, во дворце царя Иудеи и в Иерусалиме, не отправилась в Вавилон.

For this is what the Lord Almighty says about the pillars, the bronze Sea, the movable stands and the other articles that are left in this city,

Ведь так говорит Вечный, Повелитель Сил, о колоннах, о „море“^[c], передвижных подставках и прочей утвари, оставшейся в городе,

which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take away when he carried Jehoiachin^[b] son of Jehoiakim king of Judah into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, along with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem—

которую Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, не забрал с собой, когда он увёл иудейского царя Иехонию, сына Иоакима, в плен из Иерусалима в Вавилон вместе со знатью Иудеи и Иерусалима –

yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says about the things that are left in the house of the Lord and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem:

да, так Вечный, Повелитель Сил, Бог Исраила, говорит об утвари, оставшейся в доме Вечного, во дворце царя Иудеи и в Иерусалиме:

‘They will be taken to Babylon and there they will remain until the day I come for them,’ declares the Lord. ‘Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.’”

Её заберут в Вавилон, и она останется там до того дня, когда Я приду за ней, – возвещает Вечный. – Тогда Я заберу её и верну в эту землю».
