Jeremiah 16

Then the word of the Lord came to me:

Вечный сказал мне:

“You must not marry and have sons or daughters in this place.”

– Не женись и не заводи себе ни сыновей, ни дочерей в этой стране.

For this is what the Lord says about the sons and daughters born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers:

Ведь так говорит Вечный о сыновьях и дочерях, родившихся в этой стране, и о матерях, родивших их, и об отцах, давших им жизнь:

“They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like dung lying on the ground. They will perish by sword and famine, and their dead bodies will become food for the birds and the wild animals.”

– Они погибнут от страшных болезней и не будут ни оплаканы, ни похоронены; они будут, как навоз, лежать на земле. Поразит их меч, и погубит голод; их трупы станут пищей для небесных птиц и земных зверей.

For this is what the Lord says: “Do not enter a house where there is a funeral meal; do not go to mourn or show sympathy, because I have withdrawn my blessing, my love and my pity from this people,” declares the Lord.

Ведь так говорит Вечный:

– Не входи в дом, где устраивают поминальные обеды; не ходи ни плакать, ни соболезновать, потому что Я лишил этот народ Своего благословения, любви и жалости, – возвещает Вечный. –

“Both high and low will die in this land. They will not be buried or mourned, and no one will cut themselves or shave their head for the dead.

В этом краю умрут и знатные, и бедные, и не похоронят их, и не оплачут, и не будут делать на себе надрезов и брить голов в память о них.

No one will offer food to comfort those who mourn for the dead—not even for a father or a mother—nor will anyone give them a drink to console them.

Никто не преломит хлеба для плачущих, чтобы утешить их об умершем; никто не подаст им утешительной чарки, чтобы выпили в память об отце и матери.

“And do not enter a house where there is feasting and sit down to eat and drink.

Не входи и в дом пира и не садись с ними есть и пить.

For this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Before your eyes and in your days I will bring an end to the sounds of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom in this place.

Ведь так говорит Вечный, Повелитель Сил, Бог Исраила:

– На ваших глазах, в ваши дни, Я положу конец звукам веселья и радости, голосам жениха и невесты на этой земле.

“When you tell these people all this and they ask you, ‘Why has the Lord decreed such a great disaster against us? What wrong have we done? What sin have we committed against the Lord our God?’

Когда ты возвестишь всё это людям, и они станут спрашивать тебя: «За что Вечный предрёк нам великое горе? В чём мы провинились? Что за грех совершили перед Вечным, нашим Богом?» –

then say to them, ‘It is because your ancestors forsook me,’ declares the Lord, ‘and followed other gods and served and worshiped them. They forsook me and did not keep my law.

отвечай: «Потому что ваши отцы оставили Меня, – возвещает Вечный, – и пошли за чужими богами, и служили им и поклонялись, а Меня оставили и не сохранили Мой Закон.

But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors. See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me.

А сами вы поступаете хуже ваших отцов, каждый поступает по упрямству своего злого сердца и отказывается слушать Меня.

So I will throw you out of this land into a land neither you nor your ancestors have known, and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’

За это Я изгоню вас из этой земли в землю, которой не знали ни вы, ни ваши отцы, и вы будете днём и ночью служить там чужим богам, потому что Я не пожалею вас».

Обещание о возвращении из плена

“However, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when it will no longer be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’

– Но непременно настанут дни, – возвещает Вечный, – когда больше не будут говорить: «Верно, как и то, что жив Вечный, Который вывел исраильтян из Египта»,

but it will be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land I gave their ancestors.

а будут говорить: «Верно, как и то, что жив Вечный, Который вывел исраильтян из северных земель и из всех стран, куда Он изгнал их», потому что Я верну исраильтян в ту землю, которую дал их предкам.

“But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the Lord, “and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.

А ныне Я посылаю за множеством рыболовов, – возвещает Вечный, – и они переловят их. После этого Я пошлю за множеством охотников, и они будут охотиться на них на всех горах, на всех холмах и в расщелинах скал.

My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.

Все их пути – перед Моим взором; они не скрыты от Меня, и их вина не утаится от Моих глаз.

I will repay them double for their wickedness and their sin, because they have defiled my land with the lifeless forms of their vile images and have filled my inheritance with their detestable idols.”
