Genesis 25

Abraham had taken another wife, whose name was Keturah.

Ибрахим взял себе другую жену, которую звали Хеттура.

She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah.

Она родила ему Зимрана, Иокшана, Медана, Мадиана, Ишбака и Шуаха.

Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan; the descendants of Dedan were the Ashurites, the Letushites and the Leummites.

Иокшан был отцом Шевы и Дедана; потомками Дедана были ашшуриты, летушиты и леюмиты.

The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanok, Abida and Eldaah. All these were descendants of Keturah.

Сыновьями Мадиана были Ефа, Ефер, Ханох, Авида и Элдага. Все они были потомками Хеттуры.

Abraham left everything he owned to Isaac.

Ибрахим оставил всё, что у него было, Исхаку.

But while he was still living, he gave gifts to the sons of his concubines and sent them away from his son Isaac to the land of the east.

Сыновей наложниц он щедро одарил и ещё при жизни своей отослал их от своего сына Исхака на восток, в восточную землю.

Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years.

Всего Ибрахим прожил сто семьдесят пять лет.

Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people.

Он испустил последний вздох и умер в глубокой старости, насытившись жизнью, и отошёл к своим предкам.

His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah near Mamre, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite,

Его сыновья Исхак и Исмаил похоронили его в пещере Махпела рядом с Мамре, на поле хетта Эфрона, сына Цохара,

the field Abraham had bought from the Hittites.^[a] There Abraham was buried with his wife Sarah.

которое Ибрахим купил у хеттов^[a]. Там Ибрахим был погребён рядом со своей женой Саррой.

After Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac, who then lived near Beer Lahai Roi.

Ishmael’s Sons

После смерти Ибрахима Аллах благословил его сына Исхака, который тогда жил возле Беэр-Лахай-Рои.

Потомки Исмаила

This is the account of the family line of Abraham’s son Ishmael, whom Sarah’s slave, Hagar the Egyptian, bore to Abraham.

Вот родословие Исмаила, сына Ибрахима, которого служанка Сарры, египтянка Ажар, родила Ибрахиму;

These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, listed in the order of their birth: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

и вот имена сыновей Исмаила, перечисленные в порядке их рождения: Навайот – первенец Исмаила, Кедар, Адбеил, Мивсам,

Mishma, Dumah, Massa,

Мишма, Дума, Масса,

Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah.

Хадад, Тема, Иетур, Нафиш и Кедма.

These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers according to their settlements and camps.

Это имена сыновей Исмаила, имена двенадцати вождей родов по их поселениям и кочевьям.

Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people.

Всего Исмаил жил сто тридцать семь лет. Он испустил последний вздох и умер, и отошёл к своим предкам.

His descendants settled in the area from Havilah to Shur, near the eastern border of Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. And they lived in hostility toward^[b] all the tribes related to them.

Jacob and Esau

Его потомки поселились в области от Хавилы до Сура, возле границы Египта, на пути к Ассирии. Они жили во вражде со всеми своими братьями.^[b]

Сыновья Исхака – Есав и Якуб

This is the account of the family line of Abraham’s son Isaac.

Abraham became the father of Isaac,

Вот рассказ об Исхаке, сыне Ибрахима. У Ибрахима родился Исхак.

and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram^[c] and sister of Laban the Aramean.

Исхаку было сорок лет, когда он женился на Рабиге, дочери арамея Бетуила из Паддан-Арама^[c], сестре арамея Лавана.

Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

Исхак молил Вечного за жену, потому что она была бесплодна. Вечный ответил на его молитву, и его жена Рабига забеременела.

The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.

Дети стали толкать друг друга в её утробе, и она сказала:

– За что мне это?

И она пошла спросить Вечного.

The Lord said to her,

И сказал ей Вечный:

When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb.

Когда пришло ей время родить, во чреве её действительно оказались мальчики-близнецы.

The first to come out was red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment; so they named him Esau.^[d]

Первый родился красный, и всё его тело было покрыто как бы ворсистой одеждой; поэтому его назвали Есав («волосатый»).

After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob.^[e] Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah gave birth to them.

Потом появился его брат, держась рукой за пятку Есава; поэтому он был назван Якуб («он держится за пятку»)^[d]. Исхаку было шестьдесят лет, когда Рабига родила их.

Есав продаёт своё первородство

The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents.

Мальчики выросли: Есав был искусный охотник, человек полей, а Якуб был человек тихий, живущий среди шатров.

Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Исхак, которому была по вкусу дичь, больше любил Есава, но Рабига больше любила Якуба.

Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished.

Однажды, когда Якуб готовил похлёбку, Есав вернулся с поля очень голодный.

He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom.^[f])

Он сказал Якубу:

– Скорее, дай мне поесть немного того красного, что ты готовишь! Я умираю от голода!

(Вот почему ему также дали имя Эдом («красный»).)

Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.”

Якуб ответил:

– Сперва продай мне твоё первородство^[e].

“Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?”

– Я умираю от голода, – сказал Есав. – Какая мне польза в первородстве?

But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.

Якуб сказал:

– Сначала поклянись.

Он поклялся, и так продал своё первородство Якубу.

Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left.

So Esau despised his birthright.

Тогда Якуб дал Есаву лепёшек и чечевичной похлёбки. Он поел, попил, встал и ушёл. Так Есав пренебрёг своим первородством.
